Eddie is losing his mind just a little bit more each day. One day he'll wake up and wonder why he spends so much time promoting women's boxing because NOBODY GIVES A F**K ABOUT IT, EDDIE! Fact is, Dillian Whyte is borderline garbage. In the 70s you'd never have heard of him; in the 80s he'd have got battered by the top 10 at any point and even in the 90s most cnts would have sparked him out. If he's top 5, well that is brutally indicative of the current state of the HW division outside the top 3 boys.

That Usyk hasn't yet fought at HW? You do have a point there. but now Usyk has officially moved up he is in the mandatory position for AJ's WBO title, so Eddie can't just ignore him.

Coincidentally, I watched the 2 HW fights of Michael Hunter, who fought Usyk at CW, just a couple of hours before I read about him signing with Hearn.

Hunter is no bigger than Usyk, but he handled 2 huge HWs and stopped them both. One of them, Bakole, was written off as a hype job after losing to Hunter, but just rebounded with an impressive win over Wach.

And I can't forget how well 2 other Usyk "victims" have performed at HW. Huck gave Povetkin hell and Breidis iced Manuel Charr with one punch.

Why is he? He fought the mighty Travis Kaufman and then Christian Hammer in his last fight. He's beaten bums his whole career and got stopped the only time he stepped up.

Whyte will give any of the top 3 trouble, but still likely lose to all of them. And I say that as a big Whyte fan.

Don’t think you can rank Usyk up there until he has a pro heavyweight fight.

The reality is that after the top 3, then there’s quite a big gap down to the others, which is why it’s such a shame they’re not fighting each other anytime soon.

In a year or two, one of Joyce, Usyk, Dubois, Hrigovic or any one from a host of other up and coming fighters should be ready to join the elite and dethrone one of the champions.

yes, based on the WBO rules he can fight for the title immediately. That doesn't make him one of the 5 best HWT's in the world.

As we have discussed, I think Usyk beats all the Hwt's if he can handle their power. My point is to rank him top 5 before he has actually fought at HWT is absurd.

hearn had him and didnt put him in with either whyte or AJ.....and still nobody is jumping at the chance....and hes totally a guy that eddie could get for either of those guys today...yeah hes been fighting on the pbc but hes not a premier guy ..they would gladly jump at a good money/big fight for him...but nobody calls
Yes he’s definitely avoided but AJ would beat him and whyte would be a good fight. Whyte from a couple of years ago would have lost and nobody would have cared so it’s no wonder he never made that.

Hearn seems to be doing g his job quite well as a promoter, you know promoting his fighters....
Haters are hating, fans are fanboying, Hearn's fighters make money, Hearn makes money, rinse and repeat...

Not sure what people were expecting, it's not like he's gonna call his own fighters shi[t.

Whyte is top 10, maybe not top 5, certainly not #3

I appreciate that Eddie wants to pat Whyte on the back because of their tense AJ-Whyte negotiations, but Whyte should not be ranked above Wilder. I'm pretty sure Eddie's head would have exploded if Wilder joined Matchroom and Eddie was asked the same question then. He's a good promoter and a very successful businessman, who, unlike kids of some other rich parents, actually did very well on his own.

And including a hypothetical HW, like Usyk, is a stretch. If Usyk was the same size as the current HW big boys, he'd have a solid chance to become the undisputed there as well, but he's not and I think this might be the reason he won't repeat his success at HW.

It's just Hearn's opinion, and he evidently rates Usyk highly, which I think is genuine, not just promoter's spiel.
