Comments Thread For: Joshua: Miller is Just Another Stepping Stone To a Mega-Fight

ANTHONY JOSHUA insists he won't lash out at Jarrell Miller as he prepares to become part of Madison Square Garden history as he knows the fight would be cancelled if he lost his temper. The WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO heavyweight champion defends his titles against the American at the iconic venue in New York on June 1.

It's the relative unknown quality of Miller that makes this interesting.Miller's best hope is to take the fight long and frustrate AJ as there is the belief that his stamina isn't the greatest. That being said, I don't think any of Miller can live with his power long enough to really exploit any shortfall in stamina.

I think AJ stops him within 8.

Right, nobody really knows how Miller will perform come fight night. He could turn out to be a total scrub or he may end up being a legit threat. Either way it'll be interesting to see whether he gets stopped early or gives AJ a tougher than expected fight.

The fans that have never fought a day in life shut thu

Big Baby is a live dog here if his defense is tight and he's gotten rid of those bad habits where he tends to walk in with hands down and every now and then one slips through but with less pop than AJ has. Miller is big and strong and conditioned with good rhythm so that's a problem for any heavyweight no matter which time period you happen to be in. Don't bet against a motivated Big Man!

This is very easy fight for AJ. All Joshua has to do is to box. Be smart and don't allow Miller to get inside of his head and throw him off his game by getting into a slug fest; Where he expends a lot of energy and stamina. That's what Miller wants. He wants a fast paced physical fight fight.

All AJ has to do is take his time and be patient. If the knockout is available then he should go for it but if not, then he's the champion; So he should just win this fight comfortably on points and on the scorecards.

                March 31, 2018:

Anthony Joshua says he’s ‘not interested’ in coming to U.S.

Joshua (21-0, 20 KO) was asked in his post-fight interview in the ring, “Are you interested in trying to conquer America?”

                His reply was blunt.

“No,” he said. “All these years, the UK fighters have had to go to America, everyone had to spend a heap of money to go to Vegas. We can do it in London around Wembley, Cardiff. It’s local. We’re staying right here. We’re staying right here.”

                April 10, 2019:

"I want more Americans there. I want to show we can pull in a crowd and bring boxing back.”

What a difference a year makes!

Spoken like a true champ. Respect.

If Deyonce talked this way instead of shouting '50/50, 4 hunnit years, baby oil, I can avoid dangerous fighters for 2 years' then maybe he would have more fans and he would be the A side.

Miller is just a stepping stone to a bigger fight, but he is a live dog at least and knocking him out at MSG in front of his own crowd will solidify AJ in prime position.

Deyonce v Breazeale and Fury v Schwarz does nothing for those guys.

I don't agree on this being an easy fight for Joshua. All he has to do is box? His head is always right there to be clipped. Miller has hand speed and when he is set and throws his shots, enough power is there. I guess we will see on June 1st!
