Is Lou DiBella no longer a part of team Wilder?

Lou has a good Roster and he has fighters everywhere (PBC, DAZN, ESPN) also working with UFC Fight Pass Now so maybe Lou breaks away to do more of his own thing
Fans care more about the Promoters now than they do the fighters...who gives a damn honestly
I hope one day ALL PROMOTERS are removed from this sport. Their EGOS are why a lot of fights are not getting done!

Interesting. I think most of us knew Lou wasn't officially Wilder's promoter but they did seem to have a pretty loyal fight by fight deal for awhile so Lou not being involved in the Breazeale fight is curious.
Lou just signed that deal with UFC Fight Pass promote shows to so maybe PBC & Lou have parted ways or are just doing less work together for some reason.
I also heard that Eddie sh^t about Lou being into the Wilder & DAZN deal while Finkel & Haymon were not so I suppose that could have something to do with this to idk.Comment

More likely that DiBella realised he was with the wrong crew after the DAZN/Wilder fiasco and decided the way forward for his fighters is to earn with Hearn on DAZN.Last edited by kafkod; 04-09-2019, 01:29 PM.Comment

True Lou is one of those second tier top guys in the promoter world these days still. And gots a roster 99% of promoters would chop off a toe to acquire.
I disagree egos are why fights don't get done. I think its a lot of sh^t before fighters. Its promoters, its ABC groups, its platforms, but yea its the money to.Fans care more about the Promoters now than they do the fighters...who gives a damn honestly

And in support of fighters you can't tell me it makes any sense or you'd take $2M to fight a ABC top ten guy & then only take $2.5M to fight a indie ranked top ten guy. Thats just bad business. You can argue if thats a chicken or an egg problem, but if you pay a guy x for a bs opponent you can't think you can pay him x + a lil bit more to fight a legit opponent. The money should increase with the risk, appeal & entertainment value of a fight. Thats how sh^t works in this sphere. Its not a ego thing its a business thing. I think people forget sometimes or don't fully embrace that boxing is a business for all the people we talk about all day here. No one is in this sport to lose money or to not get a fair value for what they have to offer based on the realities of the market & the leverage they have.
The promoter-fan thing is interesting & I agree thats a thing obviously, but I suppose it does make sense so I can't hate on it to bad. To some extent it is like there are unofficially a PBC/Haymon boxing league, a DAZN/Hearn/Oscar boxing league & a ESPN/Bob boxing league that operate in their own lil universe & seldom do much outside of those particular streets. Fans are ultimately people & people adapt to the realities of the world they live in. So its no surprise there are PBC people, DAZN people & ESPN people in the US. It is what it is. The fanboyism of this era seems like its only growing, but with how boxing works its not like boxing hasn't brought this upon itself.
That said I think people are kidding themselves if they think we will be living in a world where PBC, DAZN & ESPN are all putting on as much boxing as they are today in 5 or 10 years. There are gonna be some casualties in this battle so enjoy this time for what it is.Comment

If my ******ed promoter told my opponent after a match that he won and ****ed up a 100 million dollar deal because he didn't know how much the other guy was making, I would kick him out too.Comment
