If he had been a boxer his whole life, he'd have a lot of potential. He has very good reflexes, athleticism and hand speed. He just clearly doesn't have any boxing technique whatsoever.Comment

McGregor's main problem is not his boxing skills (which is not very good), it's his stamina.
Even in his MMA bouts he starts to gas around the 2nd or 3rd rounds. My guess it's his lack of discipline. If you don't have discipline you can't be great at anything you do.Comment

No. He practiced boxing since he was a kid. The UFC is different from boxing. He had skilled fists for that Sport but not even close to the skill of a good pro boxer. If he had gone into boxing full time from the beginning I think he would have become an average boxer but never a great one.Comment
