Errol Spence vs Shawn Porter Unification Bout Being "Pegged" For September

You're talking this fight or the Garcia one? I agree, I don't think there is a 50/50 split anymore, and case in point, DirecTV didn't start showing promos for the fight until a couple days before the fight. Usually they do it far earlier to promote the fight. Also, you have to think quite a bit of purchases came through the Fox Go App which for goes the cable distributors. But how I got my numbers of it generating around 20M:Is this a ~$20M fight you think?
Edit: Well doing the math it requires 533k PPV buys (@ $75 a pop) to break even if it was so maybe not off base by much. And thats assuming the distributor takes 50% which I don't think is necessarily true anymore between leverage on boxings side becoming better with offering cord cutting options to buy the PPV where they are taking more if not the whole pie.
380,000 *75 = 28,500,000/2 = 14,250,000 *.90 = 12,825,000
Live gate 4-5M
International revenue plus sponsorship money ~5-7M
And obviously you pay UC fighters and what not, but Spence also sold his own merchandise at the fight but I don't know how to account for that. But still, a fair guess that he came away with 10 or so million for the fight.
Do I think the Porter fight is at that level? I do not.Comment

This. The guys who make money will keep avoiding him until they have to. The guys who don’t will now jump to get a fight with him to get that ppv loot.
Let’s hope the winner of manny/Thurman doesn’t run from him for too long.Comment

I think the winner of Manny/Thurman will fight and interim fight and Spence/Porter winner will fight interim before they unify (at least one vs Garcia). Just my prediction, but that's how I unfortunately see it happeningComment

Yea this fight.
Interesting. What's the rumored cut distributors get now in these sorta situations? If you've heard of one.I agree, I don't think there is a 50/50 split anymore, and case in point, DirecTV didn't start showing promos for the fight until a couple days before the fight. Usually they do it far earlier to promote the fight.
I heard this was becoming more of a thing, but haven't heard anything beyond massive speculation on what the new cut could end up being.
Fair play. The international revenue & sponsorship money feels a lil high-ish to me doe. But with the Fox App situation & the likely more favorable cut from distributors it probably all evens out anyway. Also, you have to think quite a bit of purchases came through the Fox Go App which for goes the cable distributors. But how I got my numbers of it generating around 20M:
380,000 *75 = 28,500,000/2 = 14,250,000 *.90 = 12,825,000

International revenue plus sponsorship money ~5-7M
In regards to how much they are getting paid?Do I think the Porter fight is at that level? I do not.
Idk man. With how Haymon operates you get what you can get after you pay the people you gotta pay.
I always wonder exactly how much Fox would be taking of the PPV revenue & how much the flat fee the promoter would be paid. The distributor we have info of, in the past anyway. And I assume its all mostly going to the fighters from there & Haymon takes his % from that.
So if you can sell you can get paid $10Mish or w/e. Thats the good part about PPV which is why I was surprised Canelo flipped over to DAZN (although I've kinda always thought he hated selling fights so a more consistent guaranteed payment structure might be better/less stressful for him) & why I think Joshua is short selling himself if he doesn't attempt to become a US PPV draw. The upside is so f#cking up with PPV still.Comment
