They did somewhat with the Ali Act but nobody enforces it. Under the Ali Act it is illegal for a broadcaster or promoter for to limit access to their signed fighters if you don't also sign with them. Hearn running around telling anybody that will listen that you can't fight a DAZN fighter unless you sign with them is illegal if I am interpreting the Ali act correctly. Nothing is done about it. Promoters do the same thing. Some promoters will not deal with a rival promoter. It's a mess. The government has to step in and protect the fighters from exploitation and lost financial opportunities.

You need a promoter to a certain extent when you want to promote a fight. I understand we all want great fights "now" but some fights like Leonard Hearns weren't just made overnight. Some fights that are good now can be made even better with some time. I hate to use the word "marinate" because it has a bad rap especially with the Pacquiao/Mayweather debacle, but it's truly something that can make a good fight, great.

But I think there has to be a balance. We can use Crawford/Spence, Joshua/Wilder for example. Those would clearly be big fights right now, but give it at least another year, while the guys are still in their primes, and it'll be massive. You don't want to pass the expiration date but I think with some fights you need a promoter that is going to make it just right. Idk, that's just a thought. I'm far from an expert but I think you need a little bit of everyone to keep boxing going.

we need one main body and tournaments in every category every year! tennis organization is the best. there is seeding so that the best are projected to face the best later on, not right away. and if you reach semifinal (for example) your pay is EQUAL. it doesn't matter if you are number 1 or number 100, if you are american, british or congolese. your earnings are only dependant on your results as it should be. then it would be simple to follow boxing and more people would be interested.

They need something of some structure.

Boxing is different from all other sports in that ot is global.
Yeah the NBA is global but it's bases in the USA. They're not playing the Spain champs (except every four years for the Olympics.)

Their is just to much money involved
That is why it will never be one commission or sanctioning body
Even once they introduced the Ali act , promoters found new ways around it

I think Atlas is right, partially. You'd need a killer like Dana White to just **** everyone over and dominate the landscape with the best fighters.

UFC still has competition just has lesser fighters.

DAZN WAS ABOUT TO DO THIS THEN HAYMON AND ARUM GOT BUTTHURT.

DAZN was close. If wilder signed....the dominoes would have kept falling...

If there was one organization that oversaw boxing and 1 belt per division there could be promoters who are assigned to fighters and their salaries could be dictated by how well they promote the fights or they get a cut of the fight they promote.
