Could the sport exist without them?

I'd be all for that if possible. I've had all I can take of these guys like Hearn, Arum and De La Hoya. Really I can't think of a single promoter I ever have liked lol. But they are worse than ever now

Legally you need a promoter with a license, but other than having a promoter of record for legal purposes, the PBC model has largely minimized the role of promoters.

The TV networks do a lot of that already, with commercials and shoulder programming and crossover appearances on other shows.

That would be best for the sport IMO if all promoters was eventually replaced

The law could be ammended to bring boxing in line with other professional sports.

Good luck man. Most major states still treat pro wrestling as a real athletic contest in the eyes of the law. Most of these athletic commission laws were written well over a hundred years ago and were never updated. It's crazy.
