Wtf? I thought Yarde being mentioned fighting Kovalev was just publicity to get Yarde's name out there. Maybe it still is.

If not it's one of the biggest step ups in competition I can remember, Yarde looks good but he's fought no one anywhere near Kovalevs level.

I don't think Yarde is ready for this level of fighting. If he doesn't get knocked out then he will have done well.

Surely there's another A side to this story.

Yarde can win this. Don't be shocked if he ends up chinning him.

In what fantasy world can Yarde be considered the A-side against Kovalev? Hmmm, let me see... body-builder with unproven boxing record, lacking some very basic fundamentals and massively over-inflated ranking vs 3 time world LHW champ who's beaten everyone he's fought apart from Andre Ward... yes, I can see the thinking there, lol, GTFOH!! Kovalev may be getting old, but he could be 3 years further on the decline and still easily be the A-side in this fight

All those accolades mean sweet FA to Joe public, most don't even know or care who ward is never mind kovalev. How many ppvs did there fights get? And it was supposed to be a huge p4p fight a rivalry and included one of the best p4p fighters of this generation yet did pathetic numbers. No one cares! About accolades. Isn't there a minimumweight guy with like the best record in boxing but No one cares. Not to say yarde is the Aside but really kovalev is not some kind of star selling out arenas and any minimal star power he had evaporate when ward beat him twice and Alvarez starched him

Yarde must have a step-up in before this fight happens. Going from Travis Reeves directly to Kovalev is absolutely mental and irresponsible/dangerous on the part of his team and management.

A side. roflmfaoooooooo.... Another fighter ala Wilders fans believing a KO record means he's good. Kovalev will shake him up like a pit bull with a rat terrier. I doubt Yarde will lay a glove on him. All you East Euro haters heres your chance to run your moths...lol

Yep. Just nuts. He may be the future of the division but Kovalev is still armed with a killer instinct and a ton of experience. Moronic.

Funny guy. Kov is one too many levels above Yarde at this stage. Big, strong, can still box very well as he showed in his last fight and then theres the power which fighters almost never lose.

WBO ordered the fight it's just a matter of Yarde wanting it or not

They probably wish WBO delayed it for a year
