  • weakest decade in boxing history????????

YES. all hype and no substance. every decade produced a real legend or multiple legends. but this decade??? nothing. alot of skillful fighters with weak resumes and not many achievements to speak of. canelo??? all his best wins are questionable to say the least, failed multiple drug tests, etc... crawford??? undisputed in a weak 140 lb division, best win is a small past prime gamboa. spence???? best win is beating up a much much smaller and chubby mikey and didnt even KO him. JOKE. inoue???? still best win is KO'ing a much smaller past prime and much much older narvaez hahahahahaha.

and people are saying that floyd who has been retired since 2015 is the guaranteed FOTD??? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH easily this is the weakest decade. who is stepping to the plate??? only lomachenko but he doesnt have that deep of a resume because he turned pro later in this decade.

It's not a weak decade because we've seen some great fights so far. The problem here is that we're seeing a Mayweather-esque mentality in today's fighters. Rarely do you have fighters like Garcia who risked his undefeated record and reputation to go up in weight and challenge arguably the best fighter in a division. I would never say fighters are scared of each other but they might be scared of losing. Nobody wants to lose especially when you have a nice 0 in your win-loss column. Fighters fight at most 2-3 times a year now. Meaning each fight will have a significant effect on their career. When a fighter loses they're stock can drop. It also depends on how they perform of course. But losing not only adds a defeat to your record but your reputation can be damaged. Your value can go down, and ultimately you can lose money. Fighters and promoters don't want too risk that sort of net loss. I respect the fighters but in a sport where the best should be fighting the best, we're not really seeing that as much.

yup. a lot of fighters not taking chances to be certified ATG. taking fights where they are the big favorite. why take chances when u get millions fighting joe down the street. also a lot of hype. media praising fighters for doing very little. no one in the media demanding the best to step up and stop being big scaredy cats. guys with mediocre resumes but a lot of hype making it to people's top ten lists. hype. hype. hype. big joke.

a truly mediocre decade for boxing.

it isn't like there aren't enough good fighters, it's the scarcity of good matches being made that makes it so abysmal. Too much marinade.

                i watched the 80s, 90s, 2000s, and 2010s.

This is by far the weakest era i have seen.

Biggest draws of this era are 2 old, past their prime, up in weight lightweights fighting at welter

yup a lot of guys wasting their prime. its a joke. these guys beating up overmatched opponents and the media celebrate it. call them ATGs and legends for doing bare minimum. joke.

2010-2020, MOST likely now is the weakest in terms of great fighters, and strength and depth in divisions.
