Put a SUPER Tournament at Welter Weight once & for all!

Put a super tournament in the WW division to settle for the undisputed WW champion!

Pac at his age of 40 has only 2-3 fights left & no doubt he still has the speed, the power, the footwork, the ring IQ & as the cash cow! He only needs to fight at least a very important, blockbuster & sensible fights. Same as Floyd.
A super tournament in the welterweight division must happen to settle for the undisputed welterweight champion.

Put a prize fight purse of 100 million dollars:
Only fair for a 7 blockbuster fights (Which includes Manny & Floyd, both were cash cows maybe they can add some more millions on every fight if Pac [+15 million] & Floyd [+20 million] fights against anyone. Give them the due purse for both.) This will generate massive interest on the viewing public!

1.) Undisputed WW Champion = 50 million dollars
2.) 1st runner up = 25 million dollars
3.) 2 semi-final losers = 6.5 million dollar each (S13 million)
4.) 4 quarter-final losers = 3 million dollar each (S12 million)

Total 100 million dollars total prize purse = 50+25+13+12

Quarter final:
1) Pacquiao vs Danny Garcia
2) Floyd vs Thurman
3) Spence, vs Porter
4) Crawford vs Khan

Semi-final:
1) Winner QF1 vs Winner QF3

You forget how Bud set up the undefeated, much taller than Mikey, Benevidez, for the KO. Overweight Mikey had to leap in and Spence saw him coming. Brook was landing on Spence and I don't see anything Brook can do better than Crawford.

"You forget how Bud set up the undefeated" literally has nothing to do with what I said, about Crawford getting hit cleanly and with counters in more than a few rounds.

The point of my post was that Crawford being touched up is ignored. No need for me to mention the same about Spence, because people actually mention it all the time. On the other hand Crawford is treated as some defense wizard when very clean shots are landed on him, if not even more at times than Spence.

The main difference is Crawford doesn't throw nearly as many punches and he actually gets hit more than Spence does. You're not beating a guy like Spence throwing (on average per round) 400-500 punches in a fight. It's just not going to happen with his skill set.

Bud will have to start much faster than usual and get on top of Spence earlier. If not, he could be down 3 or 4 rounds by the time he gets into a rhythm. His film is very telling. I get he has believers, but he's not as slick as people claim.

Well said. Both guys are extremely skilled, and game. Let's say everything is equal, strength, skill, defense, accuracy, reach, speed, etc, I would go with the guy that is busier. (In their last 12 round fights Spence threw 400+ more punches) It's a great contrast of styles, and would be a fight for the ages. Right now I would give Spence the edge.

For this fight to happen, each guy has to beat one of the other top welters to make it a super fight. (Thurman, Danny Garcia, Porter) Brook or Pacquiao wins would help too. Beating guys like Mikey Garcia and Amir Khan are just money fights imo.

That said I think it has to happen by next year or it won't. Spence is melting down to a weight where he is losing some strength I think. He must be less than 5% bodyfat if not lower. His days are numbered at 147. I actually think he will be better at 154 and even 160.

I think most boxing fans are prisoners of the moment. But when you take a step back and look at a Crawford and Spence potential fight, I just see more of the same. And I think Mikey is more technically and fundamentally sound than Crawford is and Spence fought most of they fight trying to prove how fundamentally more sound he was against Garcia.

So I think the natural Welterweight size and skill of Spence will overcome anything Crawford has. I actually think a 100% healthy Thurman after a few more fights under his belt would give Spence a better fight than Crawford would. Porter will get outclassed and stopped. And I could see Danny Garcia getting beat too by Spence.

Part of me wants to think Crawford would out box Spence but the body attack of Spence may wear him down and make him vulnerable to the head shots. And a smaller fighter actually hurt Crawford, Gamboa. How does he take the shots of Spence to the body and the head. I just think Garcia has a way better chin then Crawford does. And I think Spence can absorb the shots of Crawford being the natural Welterweight. Spence said he walks around at 170.
