    Here's an AMAZING stat:

This is truly mind boggling. Mikey Garcia landed more body punches than GGG did in his fights VS Canelo. You read that right; Mikey landed 10 body shots while GGG landed 8 in the first fight and just 6 in the second fight. I will never get over the fact that GGG wouldnt go to the body and I am being serious.

Definitely a strategy you’d implement as his trainer for the third fight. That said, it’d leave him more vulnerable to head shots. But I think it’d be worth the risk to gas out Canelo later in the fight

Yeah I could never understand it either. Body shots were a huge part of his game prior to those fights and then he doesn't use them at all. I know he would leave himself open for counter shots upstairs but to completely abandoned them is mind boggling.

Golovkin couldn't throw them. Canelo would snap his head back like a bobblehead if he did.

you have to create the opening for the punch

Canelo was waaaaay too sharp for Golovkin

that stat tells a real story

one guy followed his gameplan almost perfectly..... the other guy did not follow his corners instructions and could not get his game going at all

that is the Ring Generalship aspect of the official scoring criteria..... to go with Canelo's effective aggression, clean hard punching, and defence

it was clearly obvious that Golovkin was feasting on scrubs..... who did nothing to prepare him for Jacobs and Canelo

fighters see stuff we dont see as fans!!! it's easy to sit on your couch and complain why ggg didnt go to the body. there's reasons why he didnt. just like how decide not to throw when fighting certain opponents.
