DAZN are not idiots, they wont pay Wilder 40 million for Joshua after suffering a defeat. If either lose, especially by KO, it kills the fight.

He was guaranteed a Joshua rematch, if he lost to Joshua, but not if he lost his DAZN debut. And it was a 40 million flat fee for each Joshua fight, and 20 million for Breazeale.
I don't see him losing to Breazeale. But he has to keep fighting after that, and even someone like Kownacki could be prove to be dangerous given Wilder's flaws.

Plus he's going to be earning peanuts to face guys of that caliber. It's going to take quite a few of these high risk/low reward opponents to generate what two Joshua fights would.

So I still say he made a dumb move. $100 million isn't easy to get, he should have taken it while the offer was on the table.

I know boxing is a pride thing.. But is this fool really saying he would have took the 100+mil offer only if he knew AJ was getting 90mil offer. Why cant you just be happy with what you are getting? Who cares if AJ gets the same, more or less that doesn't change the value of the 100+mil Wilder is getting.. Its still a whopping 100+mil.

If they're offering Wilder $40M, you know they're offering Joshua more. Wilder wants the same purse as Joshua.
Which is possibly the most deluded negotiating position in the history of negotiations

as pigeons noted...wilder isnt accepting less than 50/50 now! thats why!

hearn and DAZN are going to hate that....but theyll have to accept it now.....hearn could have had him for 12.5-15 before......but when you jerk a guy around and insult his people...plus hes had a ppv fight and raised his profile since then youre gonna have to pay!

Right Joshua agree to 10 Wilder will get 10 50:50 , Wilders gets 10 M now he's an idiot he'll be pleased with losing 30M if he can say he got 50;50.

They can always back door the extra to AJ later , Wilders team appear now to be idiots and will accept anything as long as its 50:50 hell make it 60:40 in their favor.

Percentages only make sense in terms of PPV with contracts and flat fees its mad.

Why do you think he deserves it? He hasn't earnt as much as AJ in a fight or close and he hasn't got as many belts.

If he had the same value as AJ do you think he should be taking less than 20mil for the Breazeale fight?

If Wilder is AJ's equal let's see him make the same money as AJ.

Also the fact that Finkel says Wilder is to take less than the DAZN offer ue to loyalty and couldn't get Showtime to cough up the difference as a billion dollar company says it all really. If they cared they'd get him the money and see it as a an investment to the big fight but they're making him take the loss and they have so much more money than him.

... Reductio ad absurdum (of course), but it's like it is: DAZN may as well produce a signed deal with AJ on about 10-20 million...

Wilder didn't want to be AJ's puppet which is fair
