I hope Joshua never fights that ****** piece of s**t Wilder. Joshua will be fine making $20-30 million a fight while Wilder makes at most $5 million a fight, which is good also, I’m not downplaying that money, it’s just clear as day Wilder is being greedy because he knows he’ll get KTFO.
Wanting fair value isn't wrong, whether you're splitting a PBJ sandwich with your little brother or negotiating a mega-merger between corporate competitors.

    Why should this be different?

Anthony Joshua could happily fight out the rest of his days as a heavyweight version of Joe Calzaghe (fighting in the UK, pleasing his fans, while the US pays him no nevermind); Wilder will keep on fighting, continuing to defend his heavyweight championship, and his profile will continue to grow (as Showtime/FOX keeps pushing him, and ESPN is left having to push him too).

So Wilder doesn't want huge money or to fight the best,he'd rather fight AJ's leftovers for peanuts, what a complete joke he is
The fact that people are trying to stick up for him is laughable
      Buuuuuuuuuum squad 🇺🇸

If he gets beat along the way maybe he never sees that amount at all.

Taking the deal was what was best for Wilder. Espinoza and Finkel and Haymon obviously have their own interests which conflict with his.
The way this is going, Wilder likely makes that on two Joshua PPVs (60/40 for the first fight, 50/50 on the rematch), lol

If he gets beat, he gets beat; still, don't forget that it still likely takes Joshua 4-5 fights to make his own $100m without Wilder.

1 billion dollars is a lot of money. Why doesn't Amazon just sell their company for 1 billion dollars?

DAZN need multiple fights, because otherwise they are in effect selling a 90dollar PPV for 10 dollars which obviously won't work. They want wilder on their network for 3 or 4 fights to maximise the number of people who sign up and stay signed up for long enough to, hopefully, enjoy the service and stay with them. Their model only makes sense if they retain customers beyond the one month trial period.

Showtime however don't care about that, they make their 90 dollars from the one fight.

So if wilder wants the DAZN 100m it would have to be over several fights. If he, or his advisors, want the one off PPV then he is in effect saying showtime or nothing.

US fight fans are being presented with two competing models for buying the biggest fights and those two models have aligned themselves with the two current hw champions. That's what this is all about.
Well said! They don't want "a fight," they want subscriptions! They need multiple fights to sustain subscriptions, where as Showtime just needs A big PPV, because there subscriptions are based on their other content ("The Chi" is fire), not just boxing! I like your analysis! What's your take on the ESPN offer to Wilder?

The sad thing is the fact that Wilder isn’t educated enough nor is he intelligent enough to free himself from his slave masters.
Al Haymon backs both guys, Lou DiBella is staging the event at Barclays Center, Showtime is airing the fight, the deals for the international markets are already in hand, etc. Back end money will be what it'll be, but you're a fool if you think Wilder and Breazeale don't know the deal points for a show that they are headlining.

The three-fight deal was set up for Wilder to beat Breazeale, lose to Joshua, lose the rematch, but be happy for his money while he leaves the undisputed title to Joshua.

This whole deal goes to **** if Wilder knocks out Joshua, lol.

Espinoza, Haymon, & Showtime only want AJ and Fury for a Wilder fight. Nothing else.

DAZN and ESPN want to make the fight AND get Wilder locked on their network. Greedy bastards lol

Besides Wilder is 33 years old and will turn 34 later this year. I believe he has maybe 3-4 years left as a top boxer.

As for those who talked about Wilder not getting an "upside", how is he going to get an upside on a streaming platform? This is not PPV. Even Canelo's contract is a flat fee one which is why he has the 2nd biggest contract in sports.
If you're assuming that the $40m was guaranteed to Broner for the 8 fights, you're playing yourself; the moment he got beat, the bulk of that money would've vanished.

3-4 years as a heavyweight isn't something to turn the nose up at; at Wilder's pace, barring any injuries, that's still 10 fights before slippage becomes a thing.

8 PPVs as undisputed heavyweight champion; imagine what that could be worth
