so, you have decided to run with your..... "when Golovkin said anyone from 154-168, he meant AT 160"..... rubbish?

    really..... ?

so, when Golovkin ran around for SIX YEARS bragging that he would fight..... "anyone from 154-168"..... he was actually bragging that he would pull the little guys up and drag the big guys down..... ?

so..... Golovkin's mantra for SIX YEARS was to overpower smaller fighters and drain bigger fighters..... ?

is..... that..... what..... you..... are..... saying..... ?

wow, how brave and manly..... I wonder what fighter ever would not be willing to do that?..... to drain the big guys and overpower the smaller guys?

and I wonder ever, what fighter would publicly admit it..... let alone run around bragging about it for SIX YEARS?

are you absolutely sure that is what Golovkin meant, Tony?

Larry please try a reading comprehension course. Cotto fought the killers at MW and conelo weight for years to avoid MW was bs and you know it. A cw for a rare fight is cool but not to campaign at. Any and all fighters that use a cw to gain advantage like Floyd and conelo and others as week as fawk. Either fight at the weight limit or don’t fight at all. Regardless of what conelo said for Floyd or what GGG said.
Cotto was the lineal champ and beat an obvious injured marrtines then holds the belt hostage and run back down once GGG was being mentioned.
Another example is GGG bs 154-168 then they ask ward for a cw that too is bs
See how I’m unbiased and I call all the bs regardless of the fighter? You should try it and stop defending Floyd as if he was flawless. His resume and career have plenty of flaws just like any other fighter. No one is above criticism Larry no one

            good post

and once again, props for your honesty bro

            but 2 things.....

            1) the situation with Canelo and Golovkin are NOT the same

            Canelo did not drain anyone

Canelo gave himself a 1lb free-pass, that may not have benefited his JMW opponents quite as much as it benefited Canelo

that is it, Canelo did no worse than that..... he dragged his opponents UP 1 pound

YES, that is still lame..... NO question..... Canelo should have been more professional..... and everyone seems to forget, Canelo did the same thing with 150 when he campaigned at welter

Golovkin either..... a) tried to drain Andre Ward..... 2) tried to kill any chance of that fight ever happening..... and this is after all of that "anyone from 154-168" rubbish..... and after specifically promising to fight Ward at 168

            2) Cotto weighed 153..... so, who cares..... those guys agreed to a catchweight so that they could get paid by a JMW superstar

I don't like catchweights either, but the real situation is not exactly how you explained it..... Cotto was a 153lb JMW, and ALL of those guys knew it, including Mr "anyone from 154-168"

that is not the same as how you explained it

the fact is, Golovkin could have taken ALL of those fights..... because, plenty of other guys did

But, but, but...don't forget! Carl Froch and JCC Jr. were fair play at 168..just not Andre Ward!

Gennadyovich ****** passed on CW fights with Canelo and Cotto in 2015 who both suggested would fight GGG anywhere from 155-157 (which is MIDDLWEIGHT)...GGG passed on those offers.

Lil ISIS Gennadyovich got what he deserved! And now he's fighting Vanes again?

You’ve been registered here since 2008 and yet you like many others still don’t understand what a catchweight is, as well as many boxing writers too at times..

A catchweight is an agreed weight by TWO fighters to meet in the MIDDLE from two different weight classes, that’s the essence of a TRUE catchweight.

Canelo’s 155 was never a catchweight unless you admit that Kirkland, Lara, and Angulo were bigger than him... I’ve read posters this week saying that Kirkland was walking around 200lbs when he agreed to finger Canelo, yet we know James is no Heavy or Cruiser.

What we do know is that James, Kirkland, and Angulo have fought MORE times above 155 than Canelo. So what does that mean? Canelo haters are so confused because they don’t look at these fighters’ weighin history or bouts. To say that Canelo had an advantage over these guys would TECHNICALLY mean that they were smaller than Canelo, which isn’t true. Lara would have been the lightest of them all.

Still confused? As aboutfkntime said, 1lb. If one wants to say that Canelo drained Lara, Kirkland, or Angulo would imply that he should’ve fought them at the full 160 or higher because they were weight deprived? I’m confused myself to understand why Canelo haters theorize advantages.

Since Lara, Kirkland nor Angulo were not title fights, who cares that they were 1lb, in fact all these guys were campaigning at the same weight, 154, so if anything Canelo did a favor to all these guys since 1lb makes a difference for any of these guys trying to hit 154. As we saw in the Canelo Angulo weight, even Canelo had a hard time making that weight and paid a fee. Canelo Alvarez in all these fights, with his team and GBP, had been ******** that Canelo could hopefully continue at 154 which is why they attempted 155. In the worse scenario Canelo could hit a threadmil and sauna at a weigh in and make 154 for any future title fight. Guys like Charlos or Andrade were risky if Canelo woulent feel well at 154.
Since Smith was the last outing where they needed to impose dietetics from the banned list to hit 154, which Warren agreed, they chose to not use VADA.

Again, Crawford was draining to 135 with eyes awkwardly seeped in for years and industry didn’t focus on that nor to Spence at the moment, and TC is older than Canelo with Spence the same age.

Pretty sure since that's what happened. I think its obvious. What's puzzling is why you are so upset about it. When he was asked on ESPN whether he would cut weight he said no. Only for Floyd. Despite Canelo's best efforts to weight drain or "drag down" Golovkin he stuck to his word. How come you don't criticize Canelo for "dragging up" Khan or "dragging down" Chavez.. I haven't seen any posts by you go condemming Spence for dragging up Garcia. The fact of the matter is you can't "drag up" (LOL) a fighter.
