Even after that beating Loma & Arum still don't want to make that fight with Mikey Garcia, Loma was exposed by Linares (5 defeats by KO) at 135, and Garcia is way better and stronger then Linares, and if "big" Spence can't stop Mikey it's not "little" Loma who will stop him, Mikey by TKO or KO over Loma.. And guess what Garcia just fought the unbeaten Spence and Loma will fight Coca Crolla (6 defeats) !!!

Mikey is obviously a good, tough boxer so he was able to make it to the final bell. If it only went a few rounds people will say Mikey didn't belong in there with Spence. At least now they can say he belonged in there but he had to take a beat down to prove it.

I look forward to seeing how the fight actually played out.
Not good, probably best not to watch it. Rounds 3-12 I did nothing but cringe, as I watched one of my favorite fighters diminished to merely being a punching bag.

Props to Mikey for taking the fight. He’s still a towering champion in my eyes, and I hope he’s not diminished too much after all the brutal attrition. Errol’s dedication to deep body digging coupled with ear ringing hooks left Mikey with nothing behind his punches, swinging wildly and missing and totally spent with no goals other than surviving 12. Watching this fight literally had me reconsidering peddling in the flesh (watching boxing) anymore.

For me, this sport has always been a guilty pleasure, but after tonight, the guilt is almost unbearable !

Garcia has come up from featherweight ffs and facing off against a huge talented welterweight was simply an idiotic move.

He should have got some good fights in his own weight class and it would have been more competitive.
Garcia could not lace Duran or pacquiao boots and that was shown tonight.
I think boxers who’ve been around for awhile, and r unblemished champions tend to get board with their accomplishments and even start to develop a Superman complex at a certain point, believing they can do the unthinkable.

When this happens, unfortunately it drives them to take unmitigated and insurmountable risks that eventually leads them on a downward spiral.

        Just ask Kell Brook.

I just finished watching it. Yes it was a beatdown. However, I saw a lot of good things from Spence. That jab was the key. He disrupted everything Mikey was trying to do. I noticed he pumped the jab a lot in the first couple of rounds. By the 3rd Mikey had no idea what was coming. Spence's shot selection was excellent. He mixed it up well to the head and body. He was also fighting off Mikey's rhythm. Mikey have a tendency to reset a lot. Spence never gave him a chance to reset.

Spence is so much better than when he fought Brook. Heck he look even better than when he fought Peterson.

Spence will beat Crawford. I was on the fence before but I'm convinced he will after tonight. It wasn't just the size difference. He turned Mikey into a punching bag because he was so much better. I'm also a huge Mikey fan but Spence outclassed him tonight.

          • Did anyone notice the whole crowd watching something happening in the stands, I think it was at the start of the 6th or 7th round.... I thought it might have been the Charlos starting a fight or something lol

              • Speaking of a dominant performance. Tonight's fight was the reason I always called out those BS Lomachenko "I quit" stoppages.

Mikey took more punishment than Walters, Rigondeaux, and all them other boxers that "quit" fighting Lomachenko. And Mikey was taking man-sized punches. His corner could've easily thrown in the towel. Real boxers don't quit if things get lospsided. However, they do if it's in the script.

Dunno about 147. Mikey looked slow, his punches looked telegraphed and Spence could easily catch them on his gloves - not sure how he could get faster at 147.

For sure his footwork and defence were excellent (only reason he went 12), but he couldn't transition from defence into attack, so it made it easy for Spence as he could think his way in without too much coming back at him. When Garcia did unload, it was too easy for Spence to avoid and block.

I suspect he would have problems getting back to 135 and being able to maintain 12 rounds - so 140 is it, and that's a pretty interesting division right now. Mikey/Prograis would be interesting.

People saying it was obvious he would win because of size are wrong, he won because he is a better boxer and had higher ring IQ ultimately. That's not a knock on Mikey, but Spence proved to be great.

That said, many welters I want to see him fight, including Maidana who just came back, before I crown him much more. And Mikey is still great, and he easily doesn't take another loss in his career.

Once Mikey felt the first jab he became gun shy. Like Tyson used ro say 'everyone has a plan until he gets hit.'
