You made an excellent point that many seem to be missing about this whole exercise.

Team Garcia made much noise that Mikey would outbox Spence ..... Sooooo Spence showed everyone that he can box, as well as slug. And I honestly don't think Spence really turned on the gas to try and KO Mikey. He turned it up from time to time .... but Spence didn't go for broke.

Spence boxing skills actually suck, very basic and only good against midgets fighters like Garcia and bums, gonna say it again Spence=athletic version of margarito and he should fight that way because that is what works for him, this boxing crap he was doing was garbage.

Thank God for Lennox Lewis' and Mike Tyson intelligent predictions. They favoured Mikey Garcia for unknown reasons

Mikey is a complete fighter with no real flaws and thought to be the better boxer by many, myself included. He has the tools to work around his jab and reach but he just didn't take enough risks to close the distance from outside, and then didn't let his hands go enough when he was next to him or in front of him.

People saying it was obvious he would win because of size are wrong, he won because he is a better boxer and had higher ring IQ ultimately. That's not a knock on Mikey, but Spence proved to be great.

That said, many welters I want to see him fight, including Maidana who just came back, before I crown him much more. And Mikey is still great, and he easily doesn't take another loss in his career.
