This dude is coming up two weight classes to fight the dude that no one wants to fight Lmao.

Now Mikey's "confidence" has really convinced people he is going to win.

Mikey won't get past 8 rounds dude. He is going to get brutalized

He's a former Brazilian silver medalist at the olympics and a current undefeated southpaw middleweight contender so I say its pretty good sparring.

I'm still sad this is happening. 2 of 3 favorites mixing it up. I'll still enjoy but I think az spence is too strong for him. I wish it would've been Mikey vs Pac & Spence vs Thurman/Porter. Hopefully Mikey handles the weight well and is a real WW from now on!!!!!

Mikey Garcia’s power is unbelievable. No wounder he KO Broner, Lipinets, and Easter.

It seems like a lot of folks are getting bent around the axle about the 'basic style' comments from Robert. From what he has said about both fighters (Errol and Mikey), he is not suggesting that a basic style is inferior or reflects a lack of skill. What he means by basic is that these guys (both) have styles that reflect traditional boxing fundamentals. They move and punch in fundamentally sound, gym-taught patterns and combinations, as opposed to a less conventional style that might rely more on physical attributes. Tito Trinidad was great and he had a pretty basic style. RJJr had anything but a basic style and he was great, though his style ultimately aged poorly because of its reliance on speed and reflexes (which always fade first).

Seems like every statement coming out of the Garcia camp is aimed at boosting his confidence going into the fight. Why tell a man who hasn't shown concussive power at 135 that he's got power for 147. I give him respect for knocking Lipnets down at 140, but the skill and experience level difference is what made that fight. To me, if you lack KO power at 140, you're going to have a tough time "discouraging" a guy who spars middleweights and is accustomed to taking shots from 147lbers.

It's "basically" not going to end well for MG, but respect to him for doing what the other top WW won't do.

...and I hope the same. I enjoy watching MG fight.

Sometimes the fact the smaller guy isnt draining and the bigger guy is, makes these fights closer and more competitive than we expect. Draining dowm saps energy and punch resistance. Fighting at your actual weight seems to help durability and strength. Golovkin and Froch are two good examples.

The IT factor is a quality that special fighters possess, it's what separates the greats from the very good fighters, the ATGs from the hall of famers, ect. I don't see that IT factor with Spence honestly, I see him as just another very solid fighter.

An IT factor fighter today would be Lomachenko.
