Comments Thread For: R. Garcia: 'Basic Style' Spence Will Find Out About Mikey's Power

Robert Garcia, head trainer and older brother of four division champion Mikey Garcia, is not overly concerned with the fighting style of IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence. Mikey, who currently holds the WBC lightweight title, will move up by two full weight divisions to challenge Spence on Saturday night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

If anybody is basic its Garcia. His offense is very predictable. Spence is the more versatile fighter.

You went a little too far with that one but Spence is not basic. Neither guy is. This is just banter from Robert.

Both are very basic IMO. Sound fundamentals but neither guy has that IT factor like a Duran, Mayweather, Pacquiao, ect.

I dont agree that spence is basic. I think his strenght and body punching skill are his big weapons. But i do believed garcia can handle it and make it a war...

I don't think basic is the right word. I'd use 'economical' instead as Errol doesn't waste too many punches.

This fight is going to look like Foreman vs Frazier. Great Big Man versus a great smaller man. Spence for the win..
