I don't subscribe to P4P BS. It's all hypothetical. I have my own best fighters in the world list, with no numbers, unless I have to make one, or name the #1 fighter in the world.

In my book, both Spence and Mikey are already two of the best fighters. Nothing will change.

If Mikey wins he should be considered p4p....if spence wins its just what everyone expected all along. It would be the equivalent of spence moving up to fight canelo....if he beat canelo, then hell yes youre p4p number 1. But if canelo stomps you, its because you moved up two weight classes and got overpowered. Which shouldn't have surprised anyone.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was one of those that picked Rigondeaux to beat Lomachenko and then trashed the fight because of the weight difference and the winner afterwards. Difference is Rigo moved up 8 lbs from his natural weight class and fought a guy naturally 4 lbs heavier than him whereas there are 21 lbs and 5 weight divisions between Spence and Garcia's starting points.

Spence will wreck Garcia but it won't change much in pound for pound. I think I'd be much more impressed if he out skilled and won on skills and technique than just by overpowering the much smaller man.

You’re speaking pure truth. I feel the same way about p4p bs. It’s purely subjective and imaginary. Great fighters are great fighters. These are 2 of the best and they’re locking horns and it’s great for the sport.

If beating a guy 2 divisions smaller makes you number 1, then beating a guy 3 divisions smaller will make you an all-time great, so call out Tank or Berchelt.
