Would Brook have beaten Spence if not for the headbutt that broke Brooks eye?

Go watch round 8. Brook get's headbutted in the first minute and his eye starts to swell throughout the round. Spence got lucky.
No version of Brook beats Spence, there are levels in boxing. Brook was a good fighter on a good day who could beat many. He did the fundamentals right and had some power but no special effects. Spence was always going to take him out later rounds.

Spence isn't even as skilled as Brook. "No special effects" though. Pregnant ******* got lucky with an headbutt.

2nd. I've been looking for the round by round punch stats since that day & haven't been able to find them. Because Errol was landing more & better punches & it was clear to me not only throughout the fight but the 1st half. I had Spence up. It was competitive but I never understood why people act as if Brook ran away with the 1st half of the fight.

3rd. I have never until this day heard that what caused Brook's eye to swell was a headbutt.

I believe, I along with most believe it was a punch & I'm not about to believe a random gif from the fight which doesn't even display the time of the round in the fight. & finally most importantly this thread sounds like 1 big excuse to me.

              It was a good fight.

It is one of them in that I don’t think Spence is a better boxer than Brook but he’s very tough, resilient, and just hard man generally.

Spence has all the intangibles imo.

Brook was/is a classy boxer. He’s not that much better than Spence so eventually that toughness and strength wil eventually take its toll in a long draw out fight which Brook vs Spence would always be imo

I’d say do it again but Brook looks passed it and two horrible injuries.

It'd be easier to name the close fights where you didn't think the American wasn't somehow rewarded. Plus you can do better than that, pegging-boy. One of my favorite things about my time in the Isles are the insults. Knobjockey, wanker, thunder****, wank stain, tosser, knobhead, ***wit, mingebag...there's so many to choose from and the best you can do is a sad, outdated ******? Figured you would learn some new ones while bottoming.

No matter what you claim, it's not a headbutt. It's a clash of heads which tends to happen when a lefty fights an orthodox style. It's a shame that this is what determined the outcome of the fight, much like the clash of heads in the Bradley / Campbell match a decade ago (which was ultimately ruled a no-contest). I'd have preferred the same be done here but instead of opening up a cut it caused an internal injury which wasn't readily apparent. If it had been called after 8 then it's a draw and we get a rematch of what was a really good fight. That's a win for the true fans of boxing. Maybe you'll be one someday.

Mmmm. Can't find full fight, only highlights, but these are pretty extensive.

Hard to tell with highlight vids cos you never know the motives of the editor but these seem to show the fight largely how I remember it... Kell having the edge over the first half then certainly fading past 8, though whether that was the result of the head clash shown in the OP is hard to say. There is a few times where Brook seems to be turning away or trying to protect that left side late rounds but impossible to know exactly how much of a difference it made or how much of the damage was caused by the head clash.

It's hard to say. I've never heard brook make excuse.
Brook was drained and maybe it was written in stars he would fade

Brook was outboxing Spence for the first half of the fight... stop it. Spence got the better of him and showed great body work but he was getting outboxed...
