Comments Thread For: Arum: Whether or Not DAZN Moves The Needle is Questionable

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is not currently worried about the financial competition from DAZN, a sports streaming service which crashed hard on the boxing scene in 2018 - with several talent acquisitions. They first arrived with an exclusive content deal with promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom - to showcase Hearn's British talent in the United States. DAZN is also showcasing a growing stable of fighters under Hearn's Matchroom USA banner - which fully promotes or co-promotes several world champions.

"But they are in the sport, they are pouring a lot of money in the sport, and that's only good for the sport."
But when Haymon was doing it we were told he was ruining the sport. Hmmm

The essence of lowball salaries. Arum comes from minimum wage exploitation eras. Basically rip off the fighters and profit off substantially with events. Basically fooling your fighters and making contracts to make it seem like you’re not violating the Ali Act and blame other companies for being successful and saying they’re breaking the Ali Act.

It’s called minimum wage exploitation. It’s the reason why Crawford is a dumbass.

al gaymon overpaying fighters to fight bums in perpetuity is bad! at least dazn is going to match its best fighters quickly and not milk it for years like your trans daddy.

ESPN + needs a cable subscription and pay the $5 dollar to use ESPN +. No thank you. I don’t even be cable.

Al Haymon is not a promoter. The networks pay the fighters.

                This is Haymon 101.

Dazn viewership is terrible. Canelo has lost tons of sponsorship dollars now due to low viewership #s. You guys do not get the business side.
