That's his problem, not Showtime's!

It's both of their problems. While Deontay Wilder was a promotional free agent fighting on a fight by fight basis on Showtime.

However, Showtime have currently signed Al Haymon and the PBC to a three year contract extension in order to provide more boxing content on their network.

Which means Al is under a lot of pressure to deliver cards, dates and time slots for the Showtime network.

When the networks play politics and prevent fights from happening then they're a cancer to the sport along with the promoters and fighters hiding behind the networks and using that as an excuse to duck.

5 years ago all you needed was HBO and Showtime. Now you need Showtime, DAZN, FS1, and ESPN+.

5 years ago I used to be able to DVR all of the boxing if I had to work or go out with the wife so I could watch them later.

Now I have to watch some stream or wait for it to be put on the network later.

Arum and Haymon ain't going nowhere. If anything boxing is way more split up than it ever was because the networks are more involved. DAZN wont be able to monopolize anything, and these boxers know that they wont be seen on DAZN as much as they will Fox and ESPN. That means something.

And when will this notion of DAZN doing something innovative stop? Showtime has been streaming fights for 4 years now.

CBS All Access and the Showtime App are estimated to have 8 million subscribers this year and reach 16 million by 2022.

At least half of that total is for the Showtime App. So at $11 monthly with 4 million subscribers (conservative estimate), that's over $500 million a year just from streaming.

That money has to pay for other shows like Shameless, Billions, Smilf, etc but you get the point. DAZN has a long way to go, and will be "hemorrhaging money" like people accused the PBC of a few years ago.

We as boxing fans should not care about network and promoter issues. We want to see the best fights happen. What DAZN is doing is getting all the best fighters under one platform. No more excuses about networks and money. With dazn, the best will fight the best. With hbo gone, there's no more issues now with hbo can't work with showtime. The fighters are moving to dazn and they will have no choice but to fight each other under 1 platform. DAZN is doing what PBC failed to do. Once showtime goes under, all fighters will be under 1 platform and we as boxing fans will see the best fight the best without one promoter complaining about money or network issues. The fights that never happened in the past due to network issues won't happen in our era with Dazn. As a boxing fan, I could not be happier for the future of the sport.

When PBC talked about doing this you posted about how it was a bad idea. Now you think its a good idea? Very strange complete turn.

This! I still don't know who to evenness subscribe to. I live on a mountain and my internet isn't the greatest but direct TV works flawlessly. I don't even know if I'll be able to stream these fights. Bout to get one of those free trials and find out...

I’m loss the OP states that fans should care about promoters or networks but get on his knees to blow off DAZN. You should take your own advice and wish for the best fights possible not go into cheerleading mode for networks or steaming companies you’re not getting a dime from.

Actually, the PBC put Thurman vs Porter on free tv. That was an accomplishment.
