Yep, if things keep moving they are then that's a good call.

What happened to “it’s only his ninth pro fight, he’s only 23 years old, he didn’t even start boxing until he was 18!”

That no longer an acceptable argument?

No he didn’t. Just because he didn’t get KTFO doesnt mean it was a draw. Kownacki won UD.

        He's poo.
Martin? 100% poo. But he didn’t tie Adam.

It's an acceptable explanation for why he is still being fed cannon fodder level opponents. And sadly, that's all Mansour is now for a good prospect like Efe.

And I mean the bolded literally. I like Amir Mansour as a character and I was rooting for him in every fight he had since losing the disputed decision to Cunningham. It saddened me to see him folded like a deck chair by Hrgovic and I felt sad when I read about him being matched with Efe because I knew that exactly same thing was going to happen again.

Two or three years ago I would have picked Amir to beat a 9 fight novice like Efe.

9-0 is a little early to be talking like that. come back when youre 15 or so wins up.

It was a close fight with arguably the bell saving Kownacki in a ten round fight , easy?

It's like he won the belt in a cereal box and had a fight and ****ed off into oblivion.

If I was God I'd have Charles Martin rising like a Phoenix and beating every last one of these nigggas.

Why is this cat never mentioned? Is he on a private yacht somewhere snorting coke off of some Kardashian bellybutton?
I thought he had a decent performance vs. Kownacki! He's with Don King, so I think that hurts him! He's not an elite fighter, but he's what Efe needs to progress! I'm wondering where Izu Ugonoh went too! I think Efe needs some tests, and Szpilka, Martin, and Ugonoh would be good for him! I think he should be trying to fight at least 2 of them (10 rounders) in 2019!

That's how it is though. I like Mansour also, but he's a gatekeeper now. Someone for a top prospect (like Efe and Hrgovic) to prove themselves. Kind of like Stiverne was for Joyce (though with that one I was legitimately shocked because I hadn't heard Stiverne's name in two years, and was wondering where the hell they found him. Turns out it was McDonalds)

Looks like Takam has filled a similar role with Matchroom if the talk about him being paired up against Usyk is true.

What's your assessment of Hrgovic? They're moving him faster than Efe! Good or bad?

I wouldn't even class Amir as a gatekeeper, after his last 2 defeats. He's 7 years older than Johnson, but without Johnson's size, experience and defensive skills.

I'm not sure what Takam will be like after getting iced by Chisora. But before that I would have called him fringe contender, rather than a gatekeeper. He was beating the crap out of Del Boy until he got caught with that big, clubbing overhand right.
