What do people mean by "the punch didn't land"? The punch DID land, it landed on the gloves, but it did land and the momentum of the punch is what drove Shawn to the floor. Any legal punch that drives you to the floor is a knockdown even if it got blocked or landed on the shoulder. This definitley was a knockdown but I still think Shawn won like 8-4 and he deserved the decision tonight.

That guy Ugas has it all except the mental capacity to fight for a world title. He was completely star struck and looked like a deer that got caught in the headlight for a very long portion of the fight. Nobody to blame but himself for all the chances he wasted in the fight.

The punch helped cause the knockdown but it landed on the shoulder. I can't see giving Porter a count and giving Ugas a two point round because of an off balance slip knock down partly caused by a punch that landed on a non scoring area. Boxers often block punches with their shoulder. Punches that land on the shoulder don't count as scoring punches. The ref made the right call.

If that is really the rule it's a horrible rule and should be changed. Porter was just off balance and may have gone down anyway without the punch. For Porter to lose a round by 2 points and lose his title because of it based on a harmless shoulder punch that landed when he might have been going down anyway is just wrong.

If he’s stating he deserves the title on this lone bullchit fall , it’s quite sad
To me it looks like more of a push not a punch
Give him the knockdown , Porter still wins imo

Ugas should really be checking his other mistakes instead of trying to get a win over a bullchit slip or knockdown
The staredowns for starter , chasing Porter around instead of cutting the ring off , the long amounts of time without throwing etc etc
