Why does GGG need a “tuneup” fight ? He should fight Andrade next.

Yeah, it's not a good look getting paid $10 million for meaningless fights.
If you want a tuneup, go fight on small venues televised on local tv.
Fans don't need to see such crap.

And sure... that's one way of defining elite if you like. Do you automatically consider all beltholders to be elite?
Elite in their weight class, yes.

It makes perfect sense for Golovkin to go after that belt. That way a fight with the winner of Canelo/Jacobs would be complete unification.

Mmm. I think I'd be a little bit more discerning, but of course it's not unreasonable to call anyone in the top 10 elite within their own division - that's like the top 1% or less. It's just that so far at MW Andrade has fought Fox, Kautondokwa and Akavov... it's not a MW resume I'd necessarily say smacks of eliteness if you take the strap out of the equation. That's not to say I don't think Boo Boo is an excellent fighter, of course - because I do - it's just that he ain't really done much to prove it as yet.

As for the second part, I'm absolutely in agreement... same way I also thought Golovkin should have aimed to unify with Saunders before fighting Canelo... the only way to make a fight between the two bigger would be to make it for all the marbles.

Tune up fight at this level is an excuse. I’ve standed by GGG over the last 5 or so, but a “tune up” at this stage is bs. Fight anyone!

Yet Fielding would be a Top 5 win for GGG in his 40 fight career

He doesn’t need a tuneup. GGG is still the best MW in the division.

I'm surprised you don't think he needs to fight Kovalev next.
