It was reported that GGG will face a non elite MW in june. Why does he need a tuneup fight ? He’s still a force and is still the best In the division. He should fight Andrade next. I think he beats Andrade via late KO. Canelo didn’t have a tuneup fight before fighting GGG last september so GGG doesn’t need a tuneup fight too imo.

He wants to just walk into the Canelo fight in September after an easy tuneup.

Par for the course with him. He's not exactly known for his resume of challenging fights.

He is coming off of a tough fight and likely is going to be in another tough fight in September.

It would be good if he KTFO a foe actually so they can sell the "big drama show" aspect again

And while Canelo did beat him - the last 24 rounds are either 12-12 or 13-11 in Canelo's favor. Even coming off a loss it should be a competitive 3rd fight

Wasn't too tough for Canelo who fought a champion at a higher weight class in less han 3 months and is fighting the #2 or #3 guy at MW in a few weeks.

Gennady hasn't fought anyone since taking his first defeat.

And to all the Gennady conspiracy deniers...Gennady's absence in all of the fallout since his loss to Canelo tells you enough about the man...Gennady knows Canelo beat him and that is why he literally disappeared into the abyss.

Borat couldn't stop talking in his lead up to the rematch about PED's, cheating, Mexicans, Mexican style, Canelo's manhood at the 30-day weight, lots of things...after the fight...poof. Dude went full Patrick Swayze

And his loyal Borat fans accepted his "I fight for legacy" nonsense for years. Now...they make excuses for him fighting Vanes (over Saunders, Derevenchenko, Andrade), avoiding Andre Ward (being willing to fight Froch and JCC Jr. at 168), ducking a Jacobs rematch, avoiding 2014-2015 Cotto and Canelo over a few pounds, refusing to meet Brook at 157, and never acknowledging offers of unintimidated fighters in Lara and Mora...and now he won't even consider his mandatory - Jermall Charlo

But Borat getting a pass and fighting a trashcan in his next fight is acceptable because he needs a "tune-up".

Canelo took no tune-up between September fights against Borat. Canelo even had surgery on his knee. No excuses from Canelo. He bullied the bully and the bully sunken, in defeeat, retreated into nothingness for literally 6 months (fought in September and finally emerged in March).

Pathetic that he's just going to be handed another opportunity at losing to Canelo. It's clear as day GGG can't beat Alvarez and the judges aren't giving him the benefit of the doubt. Should do the right thing and fight someone with a pulse. At least give the fans a glimmer of hope - a reason for people to be excited for a third fight.

There's every likelihood that it's DAZN as much as or more than Golovkin who are keen on him taking on a less threatening opponent (though I'm not quite sure what Andrade did for you to imply that he's 'elite')... ain't really gonna get much return on their investment if GGG goes down in flames before he faces Canelo.

But yeah - if he took the contact he has to bear responsibility for it too. I'd be good with him fighting Boo Boo next - in fact I'm not quite sure who else there is he could fight under DAZN that would remotely justify the price they've paid for him. Derevyanchenko is fighting Culcay in April so that's doubtful. Sulecki, maybe - he's fighting next week and could probably be ready for June if he beats Gabe. Lemieux rematch if David can still make 160... Hard to think why anyone would want that though. N'Dam - now that's a fight I wouldn't mind, but I always did think more of NDNJ than most folk seem to.

DAZN isn't scared to risk Canelo going down in flames against Jacobs. I don't see why Golovkin can't fight Andrade.

And Andrade has the other middleweight belt so that makes him one of the middleweight elite.

I don't see why not either. Andrade is the best fight out there for Golovkin, but I won't be holding my breath.

And sure... that's one way of defining elite if you like. Do you automatically consider all beltholders to be elite?
