Why does no boxer today seem to have the intimidation factor Mike Tyson had?

He didn't speak much though, Don King did a lot of talking for him and when he did speak some of the stuff he said was very Intimidating despite his Voice which really didn't match his look and persona

That level of influence is rare. Few mfers in history had that level of intimidation. Sonny & Big George are the main two that come to mind besides Mike.

Tyson had most guys beat mentally before he even got in the ring. They knew they were most likely to get KO’d in spectacular fashion.
That stare down against that tomato can he fought after getting out of jail is still burned into my soul. 10 year old me though he was going to reach out of my tv and actually kill me.

I just thought of him as a good fast hard punching heavyweight no more intimidating than the prime Liston, Foreman, or Louis. Holyfield and Douglas were not intimidated by Tyson.

Because good boxers are paid so well these days and live comfortable lives compared to other eras. So no need for that. They do their talking in the ring.

Not true. He was a good boxer with a lot of power, and that's it. Skill for skill, he wouldn't come close to someone like Floyd, or even Sergio Martinez.

These days it's harder. Guys like tyson from the 80s/90s weren't scrutinized as much back then for fighting lesser competition. People went by what they hear and see, and tyson was seen as the ultimate bad guy who was tough and ferocious. Social media and the internet weren't as prevalent and people back then don't have much info on what happens behind the scenes as much as they do today.

Wilder tried to do that. And just like Tyson, he couldn't sustain it long term.

When you thought of Tyson as the "baddest man on the planet" you could believe he could defeat or even possibly kill any man on the planet.

Are there any boxer now or the last few years who have anything similar to that vibe or why not?
