Why does no boxer today seem to have the intimidation factor Mike Tyson had?

Mike's intimidation was that he was knocking people the **** OUT! And a lot of times it was over FAST! No HW is doing that these days.

I blame it on social media.

That is a really insightful point.

There was a mystique and sacred element to athletes and boxers in the past. I just remember just this moment, somebody stating that social media ruined wrestling characters. Because people could then go and follow the man behind the character on social media.

I think these days, athletes or certain athletes in some sports are afraid to block out social media. 'I had a look on Anthony Joshua page the other day, and part from him being the world heavyweight champion? His page was annoying, Tyson Fury's even more annoying'.

Scarlett Johnson is not on social media, and her career and performances are just fine. 'From a marketing perspective certain people are afraid to not use social media'.

Tyson was intimidating but he was also a bully who needed his intimidation to work on you.

Buster Douglas went into the fight with him so cut up about his mum I don't think he gave a **** if he got hurt which is one of the reasons he did so well. Obviously Evander was another who Tyson couldn't intimidate.

Since Tyson, Vitali Klitschko is the only intimidating heavyweight I can think of. He didn't act like an animal like Tyson but he was so big, tough and just didn't put up with any ****.

Joshua has the same vibe about him. There's a nasty side to AJ which only comes out when he climbs through the ropes, but this will become more apparent as his career develops.
He is a bad man, but for.me Tyson is an atg and one of the best ever.
Really like the guy, and he is a fine example to people who want to put bitteress and adversity behind them and only look forward. I believe his calm demeanor now is as impressive as his in ring resume considering what he has been through. A true champion and no bs in him. Wilder take notes.

I think it’s also the era and the environment these young boxers grew up in. How many of these modern boxers had a rough childhood like Tyson or Duran.

Hunger level is different and so are their motives.
