Whyte has been grown really well by sky & matchroom, it wouldn’t only be a show of disloyalty but also potentially a classic example of grass isn’t always greener.

A few things to consider, sky/matchroom invested in Whyte after his loss to AJ - how many others would have?

Wilder and AJ will be at different networks so will his options be limited for big bucks or not?

Certainly financial logic would say fight AJ first, he certainly doesn’t need to fight Whyte again given he beat him already?

What happens if he loses to fury for example - where does he then go? With matchroom they would rebuild him, would top rank?

Now you can view it another way of course, but I’m not convinced - unless they are offering big bucks like they did to fury - that this really makes sense so I’ll wait for something more official and more reliable source of reporting

The last 2 months proves what American boxing fans knew all along.

Merica is where it's at, the money, the fame, the bright lights, UK fans are claiming it's a UK era, but all their fighters want to fight stateside, and not only that, they want to ink long term deals stateside.

Selling out Wembley does not equate to money in the bank, or credibility.

      The US reigns supreme.
Hahahahaha..... It's like you just came out from state sides prison.
      Welcome back buddy.

If Whyte does this on a multi fight deal like Fury then clearly neither of them care about world titles.

Joshua and Deyonce need to freeze them both out and hopefully fight each other.

If you want to be world champion you need to be free to fight on the champions network/platform, not signing exclusive deals with another network.

I don't see what ESPN are getting from this. Neither of them are huge stars in the US. I don't blame Fury and Whyte if they are getting big money, but they are certainly not chasing glory with these moves.

All their best fighters are pretty much fighting stateside, and both their top promoters have US network deals. Won't last forever, but for the next few years I doubt there will be all that many big UK shows. Even Hearn is now more open to having Joshua fight stateside more than he was in the past. Said the Wilder fight will happen in the states if it happens.
Well, the rip off continues. It's a win win situation.

Stop hating hearn and look at values and numbers.
I don't think they offered Whyte 7m Think it was more like $4M i.e. why he dint take the fight and is possibly leaving Hearn for TR /espn. With Espn money I believe he will make more fighting under a new contract. Lets see what contract they offer him. Obviosly he not signing if he doesn't like the #s he proven that. Maybe $10M + over multiple fights with higher guarantees if he wins. IDK for sure. What are you thinking?

You make some good points. What is Espn getting exactly? Been wondering this since they signed Fury?

Lol wow am so happy for him. It must be the right deal for him to sign with Top rank. The opportunity to fight in America, since everyone seem to be fighting there next. Pride wise he had to make this sort of power move too.

Whyte is as an explosive entertaining fighter with 2 knockouts of the year in 2018 and improving in every fight if he signs with ESPN then that would be a good career move.

Whyte is a PPV fighter in the UK and sells out 20k + arenas he is 2nd only to AJ in terms of revenue generated so I cannot see Hearn letting him go without a counter offer.

Well, let's see what the #s in the contract says but am pretty certain Eddie's offer was as high as 7mil. Whyte estimated himself up to 10mil.

Which ever way, I hope it's for the good of boxing but from observations, it is now more difficult to make the big fights we are all expecting.
