Here's the truth with Canelo. He went through a time where he was ambitious and chased the top fights like when he demanded trout, mayweather and Lara. Then after the lara scare, him and or golden boy became more cautious. They focused on facing either lesser competition, smaller fighters or guys in their mid to late 30s. As part of that process they dragged out the ggg fight for nearly 2 yrs. Jacobs is the first guy since lara who isn't either 35 and up (cotto and ggg) , significantly smaller (khan, cotto, Smith) , or just a limited lower level fighter (Chavez jr, fielding, Smith, angulo) .

Canelo's resume speaks for itself, and look at this photo the bloke ain't no middleweight hell he looks 5'8 at the MOST. Jacobs is what 6'2?! I used to have my doubts over Canelo early on when he was beating guys like Mosely but then I realised he was like 20 at the time and I was like woah! Now look at the names on that record, I hope he beats Jacobs and keeps going because he is a tough Mexican.
