Yup. I always shake my head when a guy throws his hands up in the air victoriously celebrating the fact that he just got pummelled for 10 rounds.Lol, I knew he was going to claim this BS. Ortiz didnt look impressive, but come on! Hammer was looking only to survive. Parring shots, backpedaling, just looking for that one shot and just avoiding to get knocked out.
You can clearly see at the end when he "felt he won" just by going 10 with Ortiz, lol
Congratulations on standing.Comment

Actually his best win was against the Castro regime.
Guys get old. Ortiz and Povetkin should fight it out for "The Gold Watch" belt. The loser gets the gold watch and a retirement party. The winner gets one more big fight.Comment

Watching the fight from pretty decent seats it seemed like Ortiz had injured his left hand. I credit Jim Gray for asking about it after the fight. Hammer actually landed quite a few rights and takes a hell of a punch. Ortiz should stay active and try and force a title shot by beating a Kownacki or Rivas. Time is not on his side.Comment

Just a few ticks ago having a win over Hammer was good for the resume. Now it's a problem and evidence that he didn't get knocked out.
I also noticed how all roads lead back to some Wilder reference. Posters seem pressed to find something negative about Wilder, even when a fight or article has nothing to do with him.
Regarding the actual fight, Hammer came to survive, not win. Bragging that you've fought and lost to better is weird at best.Comment

Once thing is certain, Hammer showed no fear and kept Ortiz honest with that right hand, which kept connecting again and again.
Respect to him.Comment

Exactly this.
When you've been in the ring with a lion like Tyson Fury, you probably feel like you've seen it all, Ortiz is a great fighter, but Hammer fought Fury and Povetkin, two world class prizefighters, real killers.Comment
