Of course it should. And that's not a record lol. Marciano has the record for the HW division which traditionally is the most glamorous position in sports. The whole ww record record thing is a sales pitch. It's not taken seriously. His fans love that comparison and it's a very good accomplishment for any boxer. Amazing really. But there a guy fighting right now who is 52-0 or something lol. And nobody seriously talk about him because it's not a sell. The only time I really hear ant chatter about this "record" is when ppl ask these kind of questions. And it's more than likely young kids who find it entertaining to nag and bicker with one another haha. Let the little guy have his little 50-0 career record. It's a hell of an achievement, just nothing like doing it in HW division fighting all comers...

But I hate how boxing has no quality control or skill level tiers, like most every other sport, to put on competitive fights more often.

It was a sanctioned bout it, it counts. The fight on new years was an exhibition and that didn't count. The obsession to discredit Floyd's career is one of the saddest things Ive ever seen watching sports.

Also worth noting RJJ did this exact same thing before Floyd, with a worse MMA guy making his pro debut who I believe didn't even get paid lol, & I don't recall many bringing up if that fight should count.
