I like Ortiz personally BUT in this fight, the words lethargic and bloated came to mind.

He looked far better vs Wilder and if Hammer bum rushed him like Wilder, Ortiz would go down again.

Yes, without a doubt he is a skilled boxer but anyone who can take a punch or two or has the boxing skills to get out of the way, easily takes Ortiz into later rounds where he is very vulnerable.

Ortiz vs Usyk would be a great first fight and can easily see a late stoppage for Usyk.

Certainly, Ortiz is not the boogeyman, not even close... he is however a fairly talented boxer who is unfortunately about 20 years too old.

Why would anybody go after Ortiz. he is old, no champion, brings nothing to the table. Whyte should go after Wilder and Joshua.

I think his age has been catching up with him for 4 years now. But he might just be the sort of boxer that fights up to his opponents level. Hopefully the better names would want to fight him after watching now.

Here we go again. Title shots should be earned. What has Ortiz done since the Wilder fight to earn another shot? He's dined on bums since that fight while Whyte and Brezeale have progressed.

Ortiz too flat footed and predictable, he's still a dangerous left-handed powerhouse but he lacks a lot of things.

Fury stopped hammer if I am not mistaking...

It tells a lot about the 2019 state of the HW division, appart from the top 3, the contenders are heaven worse than during klits eras...

They won't fight me either. I still don't understand this nonsense about Ortiz being ducked. He's a nobody!

Sounds like Ortiz had another night similar to the ones he had fighting Dave Allen and Malik Scott - and people wonder why he didn’t get a Joshua fight? If you look like garbage against journeymen, it’s a tough sell for any promoter to put you in a ring with a champion.

It might simply be that Ortiz is better against opponents that come forward and try to hurt him (as Wilder did), but Ortiz fights a low level of opposition frequently, so it’s hard to tell.

And this is Ortiz's issue. Who knows, maybe he's good enough to lift his game for the really big fights, but he's not getting near them now. It's just business and he brings nothing to the table.

When 40 year old Tony Thompson lasted 12 rounds vs him, that should have been the clue to everyone that he was past it, which he clearly was. He still looked explosive in that fight, maybe not as much as before but still pretty explosive, but his output, his pace, slowed because age took his stamina away.

And for KO punchers, stamina is EVERYTHING because it's HARD WORK to knock out top opponents! They need a full tank of gas to put that work in, to follow up with combinations when their opponent is hurt, to keep the pressure and output high to fatigue their opponent since fatigue is what causes knockouts even more than power does. In other words they need to OUTLAST their opponents in wars every time and that's a lot of work especially if it's a top opponent! Once that stamina goes, so do the KOs. Just look at Pacquiao. By age 33, the KOs disappeared even though he still had elite speed and very good power! Yet what was missing? The stamina, the punch output to keep beating his opponent up round after round punch after punch until they couldn't stand up to it anymore.

GGG and Kovalev also stopped getting many KOs once they hit that age and the stamina left. Many others as well. Well, Ortiz is like 10 years older than them... lol. And we know he ain't getting decisions over Wilder in the US, or AJ in the UK or the US, so what exactly is the point of watching him fight those guys if he doesn't have the stamina to get the KO anymore, but the sport is too corrupt for him to get the decision?
Your post started off so well then took a turn for the worst. GGG stopped getting knockouts because of his stamina or the quality of his opponents?
