Joyce v Ortiz would be pretty watchable
I reckon. And would serve as a decent gatekeeper fight. One has limited future, the other earns a bigger fight. Basically we get to dispel one of the myths.

I agree Joyce is garbage but I wouldn't rate Ortiz too highly. Joyce can take a punch and would be pretty awkward for Ortiz.

He still looked explosive in that fight, maybe not as much as before but still pretty explosive, but his output, his pace, slowed because age took his stamina away.
And for KO punchers, stamina is EVERYTHING because it's HARD WORK to knock out top opponents! They need a full tank of gas to put that work in, to follow up with combinations when their opponent is hurt, to keep the pressure and output high to fatigue their opponent since fatigue is what causes knockouts even more than power does. In other words they need to OUTLAST their opponents in wars every time and that's a lot of work especially if it's a top opponent! Once that stamina goes, so do the KOs. Just look at Pacquiao. By age 33, the KOs disappeared even though he still had elite speed and very good power! Yet what was missing? The stamina, the punch output to keep beating his opponent up round after round punch after punch until they couldn't stand up to it anymore.
GGG and Kovalev also stopped getting many KOs once they hit that age and the stamina left. Many others as well. Well, Ortiz is like 10 years older than them... lol. And we know he ain't getting decisions over Wilder in the US, or AJ in the UK or the US, so what exactly is the point of watching him fight those guys if he doesn't have the stamina to get the KO anymore, but the sport is too corrupt for him to get the decision?
Except Ortiz KOd Thompson in 6, and Thompson retired after the fight. Hasn't fought since.

Joyce started his career old and looked like he was slowing down vs Stivern. That Joyce gets KOd.

Starting to think not only that but Wilders lack of offense and combo punching once again made someone look more effective then they would be normally in the Ortiz fight ? Either way Povetkin and a few others over him now . I'm not even going to count the wilder win over Ortiz over Joshua's second best win Povetkin , I think Povetkin on that night defeats Ortiz of March 3rd 2018.
