Why did Finkel refuse to meet with Hearn?

Finkel cancelled the meetings because he had NOTHING. They quickly responded to some comment Joshua made on social media and Finkel started putting the feelers out but they had absolutely nothing at that point. Wilder sent the offer through a personal email account and there was nothing set in stone, nothing sorted out, money not sourced, date, venue, ANYTHING.
Thats why terms or any form of contract was refused when Hearn asked and the meeting that was planned, what was Finkel going to show Hearn? He would have to admit he had nothing really sorted out yet, certainly no legal binding written contract. I wonder if Wilder sorta got a bit too giddy about the offer and fired off his email prematurely.
Thats also why Finkel got wierd with the wording he demanded from Hearn so he could give him the contract, he said he was ready and wanted to give Hearn the contract and then Hearn said "we are very interested in the offer please send us the terms and conditions" Finkel refused, he wasnt happy with the wording, he wanted them to formally accept the offer before he gave over the contract, THERE IS NO RULES OR LAWS about what you have to say, Hearn could of said "poo poo Winkle Winkle lets juggle some fish, now we are interested please send us the contract" That would of been fine, THEY WANTED THE CONTRACT.
But how can Finkel send over terms and conditions or any variant of a contract WHEN THERE WASNT ONE. A whole month later when there was no more back and forth from either side regarding the offer did Hearn ask Haymon if that offer was legitimate or a joke offer seeing as it came from Wilder himself and then followed up by Finkels weird actions afterwards and Haymon confirmed it was a legitimate offer.Comment

****** post as usual from this spin master.it wasnt strange behavior at all and has been explained clearly. since youre just a fan, how would you have any idea what behavior is considered strange in terms of negotiating fights?
finkel wanted to know if they were meeting to finalize the 50 million deal or if hearn wanted to meet to make a different proposal. at the time, wilder was only interested in the 50 million deal, so if hearn wanted to meet about a counter offer to come to the UK, the wilder side had no interest in discussing that.
since hearn refused to say whether joshua was agreeing in principle to come to the US if the other deal points were satisfactory, finkel didnt want to waste time discussing other deal points if the money was just going to get rejected anyway.
How is Hearn supposed to know if Finkel doesn't want a meeting?
You're saying Finkel woud accept a meeting only after Hearn agrees to whatever Shirley wants him to agree.
That's like saying Finkel should say yes to whatever Hearn offers before sending him a contract.
In reality, asking for a meeting is tantamount to saying yes.
Ball was in Finkel's court to complete the deal.
It's amateurish of you to defend Finkel's childish behaviour on this.
Chicken and egg BS. No agreement, no meetinig, no meeting, no agreement.Last edited by rickJen; 03-30-2019, 11:49 AM.Comment

in short...probably because hearn has proven to be a clown
he offered 12.5 and 15....and DAZN is now out here offering over 2x hearns highest offer...and they didnt want hearn around when they did it
DAZNs offer is MUCH closer to reality....and probably close....but they must reveal to wilder what AJ would be making...i know you UK clowns will insist it doesnt matter...but it does to wilder....hes not going to take half of what AJ makes.....reveal AJs numbers and if its fair im sure wilder would have 0 problemComment

I know wilder fanboys don’t like to hear but I think the team never wanted the fight. The main reason is they know AJ is a tough fight , to the extent where he would be favourite. But more importantly given the high risk they want to maximize how much they earn from wilder and that needs two things:
1) the fight can be built up further by delaying it
2) they also earn money from other fights with increasing paydays - if he loses to AJ that would almost certainly take a huge hit too. Americans don’t like watching those with a loss, AJ wouldn’t quite have the same issue in the UKComment
