The problem is "could face the winner" means 3-6 years, Wilder already said he'd stall Whyte as long as possible so why go for it. If your Whyte you'ed be insane not to go for the WBO manadatory slot. Imagine beating Parker and Ortiz and still not getting a shot.
What might work if the WBC left the "other" interim title for Ortiz vs Whyte but do we really want another title ?

Hi. How are ya? My name is No One. Friends call me Noon. We leave off that "E" as we are hip.
Ortiz against Wilder, the Sequel, is as good of a HW action fight there is not named "Joshua against Wilder Part 1". I like it better than Joshua/Ortiz as styles make fights and Wilder's frantic style against Ortiz and his methodical attack are perfect foils for each other.
It is better than any other fight I can think of with any other contenders.Comment

The smart move for Wilder would be to take Breazeale next. Otherwise Whyte and Breazeale will fight and Whyte will be his mandatory (which is a much tougher fight).
Given that there aren't great options out there right now take the mandatory and get the WBC off your back for a while. Plus, given that the next fight probably won't do fantastic numbers you can just tell the public that you're dealing with your mando.Comment

I'd like to see this rematch seeing as how the first one was the most entertaining heavyweight fight I've seen in yrs.(yes even better than Wilder\fury).
My problem is why is Wilder the only heavyweight title holder that has to take all the risk? Why won't Aj fight Ortiz? Aj already found a way to duck this dude when Ortiz was the Wba mandatory and they had the same promoter at the time. Wilder fought Ortiz when he wasn't his mandatory. HE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO FIGHT HIM AND STILL DID.
It's no wonder Wilder is the only heavyweight Ortiz respects. The rest are cowards.Comment
