Should GBP reclaim Wilder for DAZN?

    ODH vs Hearn.

Anybody want to hear a new narrative of Hearn challenging GBP?

There isnt any competition between Matchroom and GBP, theyre in it together. If it got Wilder on DAZN I'd doubt hed be bothered if he preferred to be with Oscar

      They should try.

I got more faith GBP could sign Wilder than Matchroom could. Matchroom hasn't even showed they can promote a quality US show yet.

DAZN could make a play for Wilder to, like they did Canelo, which I think is the most likely option if Wilder were to do business with that platform.

Matchroom USA is on a better track than Golden Boy. Picking up better fighters at least.

Idk if I'd say that exactly. Just like there was friendly competition on HBO, Showtime or other networks that dealt with multiple promoters I can see Matchroom & GBP & anyone else DAZN signs up in the future having some competition too.

I for one can see a day already with Hearn's lack of success in the US thus far when GBP is the main promoter in the US for DAZN.

That Fistianados guy has even suggested he thinks Hearn might wanna get out of that DAZN deal at the 2 year mark (which has been a rumored out period). And the reality is there is more money in PPV, US & the UK, for Joshua then in this DAZN app if he grows as big as he could.

On a related note I'm still kinda surprised Canelo made the move, but then again I think he's lowered his PPV ceiling by not learning English which would lend him to being sold better to the masses of non-Spanish speaking fans.

GBP hasn't been in the game with DAZN very long yet. Give them time.

Then again maybe DAZN didn't give Oscar a budget to sign up Wilder or new guys like they did Hearn either. But yea I trust Oscar & Eric to acquire big US names more than I do Eddie all things being equal or equal-ish.

Do we know the Golden Boy budget though? They were crippled by the PBC exodus years back and never fully recovered. Seem like fighters have been reluctant to sign with Oscar for a while now.

Really dont see them getting out after 2 years, he wouldnt be signing up all these young guys and setting up in multiple countries if he was just gunna do a runner. They want to do 100-150 cards a year, what other platforms going to take that lot on?

Are those young guys signed to DAZN or Matchroom? I'd assume Matchroom so if Hearn splits he takes them wherever he goes. Or cuts them lose if they aren't of value to him in whatever countries he does wanna keep promoting in. I'd assume he's in the US for a few years longer even if he separated from DAZN to see if he can hang or not cuz there is too much money in the US if he can be successful.

And there is no way Hearn is going to be able to do 100-150 shows a year & not be burnt out real quick. I've been saying his UK & US schedule is gonna burn him out eventually, but if he's flying to the UK, the US, Japan & Romania or wherever the f#ck all the time he's gonna be snorting what Kalle is snorting on his real party days just to wake the f#ck up.

No. I've not really even heard much speculation or rumor on what DAZN gave Oscar to work with. So it could make them a player who hasn't made a move yet or a non-player right now hoping for DAZN to give them more money in year 2 or 3 of this deal.

But yea don't disagree GBP still isn't what it was pre-PBC exodus, but I feel like they are rising up again with some of these prospects they got + the solid contenders they got. If Eric had some money to toss around I think they could attract some bigger names. Even with Oscar getting in shoving sh^t up his ass or being f#cked up scandals every other year lately that Golden Boy name still has value.
