The reason I think this is possible is more to do with circumstance. Jacobs is coming to make a statement and Canelo is now on a huge contract and just expected to win. Canelo imo was on more PEDs than just the Clubeterol (and I really don’t want to get into a debate on this specific subject, we can agree to disagree), but imo he has had to reign those in and with each subsequent fight I believe he’ll lose some stamina. Also, you are right, Canelo to date has been like granite, but he is a human and after two wars with GGG he might begin to break down. Quitting on his stool is a long shot, getting KO’d not so much, Jacobs can punch and gets stronger as fights go on, he’ll be dangerous in later rounds.
C'mon man it's obvious you're hating on Canelo!
If you had said there's a chance that Canelo gets knocked out or even quit on his stool then I wouldn't of even had responded to your post. Do I think he gets knocked out?? I don't but Jacob's is a great fighter and he does have power so I would never say it can't happen! I don't think it will but can it happen?? Of course! Jacobs-Canelo is a very close fight that either fighter can win! I'm a huge Canelo fan and I'm taking Canelo but in no way is this an easy fight for him!
Is there a chance Canelo quits on his stool??? Very unlikely but can it happen?? Of course!
But you said there's a chance Canelo quits on his stool and then cries injuries... Basically saying Canelo would look for an easy way out,... That tells me you're a straight hater!
When Canelo lost to Floyd he took his ass whooping like a man and made no excuses as to why he lost so what makes you think he'll make excuses now???
But it's a proven fact that hater's will always hate on Canelo and will never give him props no matter what he does or who he fights...
I remember before the first Canelo-Triple g fight haters kept saying Canelo wouldn't fight Triple g till Triple g was 40 years old but then when Canelo did agree to fight Triple g hater's kept saying Canelo will fake an injury in order to pull out of the fight so that he wouldn't have to fight Triple g... You're probably one of them fool's who said that on here,...??
Its like damn! Canelo can never win with you hater's cause you fool's will always find something to biitch about and you fools will never give him props!

Okay, I’ll partially retract what I said, if he quits on his stool, not impossible, but yes less
likely, I believe his team wil
say he picked up an injury. He,
like in most instances will stay stoney faced and inanimate but will know there was perhaps more to it than that.

I’m not a Canelo hater, he’s been a boxing star from a very young age, perhaps I am underestimating his strength of mind, but I think at some point he’ll lose the passion or maybe become a little disillusioned especially after signing a massive multi fight deal. When you sleep on silk sheets it’s hard to go to war over and over with guys that want your spot like Jacobs.

Look, I'm not even gonna respond to you on your comment about Canelo quitting on his stool. You're obviously hating and anyone reading your posts can see that!
As far as Canelo losing his Passion to be great well I highly doubt that!
There's certain athletes who strive to be perfect and nothing less!
That's what kept Mayweather undefeated his whole career! That's what made Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant so great throughout their whole NBA career's...
They took their careers seriously and never gave anything less than 100% no matter how many belts, money, or championship rings they had!
Canelo is the same way in case you haven't noticed.... He sleeps, eats, and breathes boxing! He's always in shape and always training!
I'm not saying he'll never lose again but what I am saying is that Canelo will always give it his all in training and in a fight no matter how many belts or how much money he accumulates! Canelo is dedicated to his craft! Anyone who knows boxing and isn't a Canelo hater can see that!

Whether or not the cards were close, he won those fights and the judges correctly gave him the fights regardless.

I'm not even disagreeing that some of those scorecards were absurd. The judge that had Canelo winning by a landslide in the first GGG fight for example, terrible score. The judge that had him up vs Khan 4 rounds to 1, terrible score. The cotto fight was like 8-4 imo, 9-3 wasn't a terrible scorecard. The judge that had him winning 6 rounds vs Mayweather, also an attrocious scorecard. The Lara fight was close could've gone either way, on first watch live I had Lara then I rewatched and saw it for Canelo. Close fight. Trout fight wasn't as close as many make it seem though in my humble opinion.

My point is: He rightfully won all of those fights except for the Mayweather fight regardless. Until the judges GENUINELY and blindly rob someone of a decision against Canelo which hasn't happened yet, we can't claim that it has happened.
I had Lara winning, vs Trout a draw or Canelo winning narrowly, Canelo getting shutout by Floyd. Everyone has different outcome opinions for different reasons.

I hesitate to ever use the word robbery in a relatively close fight. It's funny that in the first Canelo vs GGG fight he called it boxing and expected to be awarded for that. In the Lara fight he called his style effective aggression and Lara's running. Whatever.

The thing that makes Canelo's fights look so bad is that you can pretty much bank on one judge coming up with an outrageous score in Canelo's favor, thus giving the illusion that they were paid off. I'm not sure it is an illusion anymore. I have seen it for all of his "close" fights, and a few others.

                • The OP is correct.

I don't see Jacobs knocking out Canelo, or even knocking him down. The best he can do is keep the fight close.

And we know what THAT result will be.

Jacobs has NO CHANCE to win this fight. None. But he will make some good money.

And that's what it's all about.

I could see you having Lara winning, as I did too when watching live. The Trout fight I mean, no way anyone can give Trout 7 rounds, 6 would be generous he definitely won that fight. I had Mayweather 10-2 or 11-1ish.

I see what you are saying though when it comes to Canelo and judges. I am simply playing devils advocate by giving people something to think about: I don't believe he's genuinely lost a fight other then against Mayweather. So until it happens, we can't assume Jacobs will get robbed. I've always felt the right man won in every Canelo fight. Lets try not to discredit his victories because of bad scorecards.

                    • Everyone knows it's true that Jacobs needs a KO to get a win in Las Vegas. The problem I have is even if Canelo got draw of a close loss to Trout, a draw or a close loss to Lara, or a loss to Golovkin in the first fight, it wouldn't diminish his drawing power. He wouldn't lose a single fan if he lost those fights. Golden Boy makes it seems like it's better for boxing if Canelo continue to win whether he deserves it or not.

Canelo can carry the sport all by himself because if his popularity. He doesn't need bogus decisions to do that.
