New interview: Fury confirms wilder must fight on ESPN

That's exactly, the point. Fury needs Wilder a whole lot more than Wilder needs Tyson because Joshua wants Wilder in the worst way.aj and wilder fighting later this year could end up pretty disastrous for espn and top rank....if wilder wins he will get the sheet end of the stick to fight wilder again...wilders people will bend fury over and make him take a crap deal and they wont be fighting on any damn espn or espn app you can bet that
even if joshua wins and the fight is close and decent it will warrant a rematch....
espn and top rank would have to pray that joshua comes out on the good end of any fight/fights with wilder....because theyll probably be pleasant with fury and it will be a big fight in the uk so theyll make out well
any scenario where wilder comes out on the good end and they could spite fury and take his ass to the woodshed
They way AJ is talking now he is willing to bend and bend some more in order to ensure to get Wilder inside the ring by the end of the year. Also, Wilder never wanted Fury in the first place.
He only took that fight on the rebound. The fight he wanted all along was Anthony Joshua.
So if Fury is talking about fighting Wilder exclusively on his ESPN platform without a dual simulcast with Wilder's CBS/Showtime platform while demanding a larger percentage of the purse split from Deontay Wilder's WBC's title belt in the process then there won't be a fight.Comment

Didn't argue against either of those things. My point remains the same doe.
No doubt. Fury definitely ain't Joshua. Thing is Wilder vs Fury II has and will continue to have value for both sides whatever fights get won or lost in the interim. If Wilder or Fury become the clear #1 before the rematch it just makes the rematch bigger & the need for them to fight again more desirable in the minds of fans. Moreover, Wilder is not going to be willing to wait another two fights down the line in order to challenge Fury for his own WBC heavyweight title again exclusively on his ESPN platform when he has a much more lucrative fight brewing on the horizon with Anthony Joshua. It's because after all, AJ is a much bigger box office draw, with a much larger fanbase and one who can pack a lot more meat in the seats among the mainstream, crossover casual fans than Tyson Fury.
Again this is emotional silliness if you think this "scar" of a draw on both fighters record will be easily forgotten or a rematch of less value in the future outside of either guy going off the rails & losing massive value with some mental breakdown (by Fury...again) or just having some embarrassing L's or something. In addition, the Joshua/Wilder fight could happen as soon as this Fall. Therefore, if it does happen, then the Tyson Fury rematch would be an aftermath and a long distant memory. Then Fury would find himself left out in the cold again.
I think Fury has secured himself in the clear top 3 guys in the division now & if Wilder or Joshua get knocked off he's the clear #1 opponent for the guy whos left at the top to fight.
Okay sure its a risk if he fights & loses by 1st round KO to Oscar Rivas or whoever but there is always risk in this sport. There is also reward for taking gambles often times & if Fury can hang out on ESPN for x fights & Wilder or Joshua (or f#ck both lose in the meantime) he gots a big payday vs the other guy or might be the big payday for whoever beat one or both of them.
Like I said some of you cats are too emotional with Fury vs Wilder II not happening right now & are coming up with ridiculous takes on Fury's future that make no sense unless he goes off the rails again. And sh^t maybe he does go off the rails again & you end up being right, but this emotional thinking is losing in the long term as emotional non-logical thinking always is in any field.Comment

$25 million with all the terms and conditions of the fight laid out is the normal way normal adults do deals in boxing.
Winkel couldn't even agree to meet with Hearn in person as if he's hiding something in his closet.
What kind of ******ity is that?
And you people run with it repeating the same bullcrap as if you're 7 yr old kids.
And if the fight doesn't happen because the other party deny the other face to face meetings, whose fault is that?Comment

They tried to rob Fury in the first fight and thats what they are getting, I can say, I understand him.
Heavyweight division right now is really frustrating. I wish people would just stop talking about it until more meaningful fights actually happen, and not just are talked about.Comment

It seems to me the the Brits are more happier with their fighters making a lot of money than actually being in the fights that matter.Comment

You are a bit brain scrambled yourself fellah. Enjoy Wilder's amazing upcoming Breazeale fight.
The guy is a ducker plain as day.
Hopefully Breazeale takes the belt from the coward. Hes a loudmouth hype job. There are about 10 UK hw's thatd flatten Wilder. He is utter dung.Comment

im a boxing fan, i just want to see the best fights. you dont know what Wilder or any of these guys are really making. It's called prize fighting for a reason. You fight who will generate you more money. Both Fury and Joshua generate more money by themselves then Wilder. Wilder has a history of turning down highest pays. From Whyte to Joshua even someone of his choice for 5 million when he made 2.1 . Only ducks and avoiding has come from Wilder the entire time, Fury will.probably be added to the list where he neglected more money but we'll have to see.Comment
