Does boxing need a super heavyweight division?

I've noticed something.... The heavyweight champs have been dominating for the past two decades have been 6'5+ 230+.

It started with Lewis from 1996-2003, then the klitschko's from 2004-2015, now it's Fury, Wilder and Joshua from 2015-

And it's always the same boring style that these giants impose on the smaller fighters. Jab jab jab, clinch, hold jab jab jab.

    BOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRIIIIIINNNNG!

There needs to be weight and height restrictions for the heavyweight division. No one wants to see that boring shyt.

I wanna see fighters like Holyfield and TYSON.

heavyweight = unlimited. that should not change.

if you want to add super cruiserweight, go ahead.

but for historical purposes, the unlimited class should always be heavyweight.

Punish clinching heavily and all these tall slow mechanical heavyweights will be getting uppercutted and hooked off into fetal positions by smaller faster hard to hit fighters.

But the problem is alot of the American heavyweights that were 6'1 to 6'3 and about 210 to 230 are now all playing football or trying to be basketball guys. That is where all the marketing is in at the moment.

True, because **** getting clinched to death when you can get a scholarship to get educated and a million to sit on a bench without getting brain damage.

I used to believe this until I got into coaching other sports. Athleticism and size alone does not = toughness & toughness cannot be taught. I hate to be 1 of those Emo NSB posters that cry for everyone to respect all boxers for what they do BUT it really does take a special person to box & not just physically special. So in my opinion there are likely very very few NBA or NFL players that could've or wouldve ever become a boxing champion.

            You dont play boxing.

Dude i coach too. It isnt just in contact sports kids now a days are softer than ever and want immediate gratification or rewards for stuff. I see it all the time. I coach football and track. Kids hate to work hard and always want to know why they have to run. Like it is punishmnet instead of preparing their bodies for the rigor of their sport.

Wilder fought Fury at 209 lbs, he's much closer to a CW than any SHW. He's a tall guy but pretty lanky.

Yes! I've been saying so for years. It would encourage many HW fighters to come into fights in shape instead of 210 lb fighters waddling out to fight at 240-250.

Also, it does not keep lighter heavyweights, like Wilder for instance, from challenging up and facing fighters upwards of 300 lbs if he chooses to.
