    Exactly what I've been thinking.

No because this new division would only be called heavyweight, the historical lore will be in the open division and we will still have obese fools like Stiverne(who should get his handed to him on Saturday) competing in the open division because the purses will be fatter.

Its simply a money game, not the love of any given sport or even any desire to win something. In football its mainly about getting a contract, actually playing the game is secondary!

And it's always the same boring style that these giants impose on the smaller fighters. Jab jab jab, clinch, hold jab jab jab.

            BOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRIIIIIINNNNG!

There needs to be weight and height restrictions for the heavyweight division. No one wants to see that boring shyt.

I wanna see fighters like Holyfield and TYSON.
Hell, no. Leave things alone. A height restriction would be an unusual and special rule just for one person. You. Are you that important that the boxing change the rules just for you? Watch tapes of Holyfield and TYSON. Every good cruiserweight tries his luck at heavyweight because that is where the big money is at. The heavyweight champion is the guy who beats everybody at any weight and that is the money weight that all good big men who compete in. We already have Cruiserweight for the guys the size of Holyfield and Tyson as many cruiserweights make the 200 pound limit and weigh near 220 on fight night. If you have a heavyweight class of no more than 230 and then an unlimited class of over 230 all the heavyweights will just compete in the unlimited class to make the most money and be the guy who can beat any boxer of any size. It's a very bad idea that will never ever happen so forget about it.

Big heavyweights have been around since the early 20th century--Willard, Tate, Carnera, Simon, were all very large during their time, 6'6" and 240+, yet skilled HWs of considerably smaller stature prevailed.

But that was back in the old days. Nutrition and training has become infinitely better than those days.

Take a look at Carnera's physique, he was chiseled from muscle. His body and his movement closely resembles Wlad. Willard went 26 rounds with Johnson in the blazing Havana heat, talk about stamina! These were very strong men who plowed fields, worked hard, and ate well, and had brute strength, not just muscle size but tendon and ligament strength which is where you get your power.

I believe it would help the sport out if they had say a 200-230lb heavyweight division, then 230+ an unlimited division. I would not have said this in the 90’s, but today it’s almost unfair for a natural heavyweight to have to fight the out right Giants! Just one posters opinion

nah, the HW division is already thin, you want to split it even further?
