Tyson is the greatest. Ali and Louis both got HUGE breaks in there careers. Tyson never did, he's #1.

He was sluggish compared to previous fights, you asked why I thought he laboured, thats why. A fights score does not always tell the full story!
Anyway my point was not over one fight, you singled out my Smith comments, my point was that Tyson was a very good heavyweight but not good enough throughout his career to be classed as a p4p great, of course you can say he dominated the division for many years and he did, but he then blew his own career with outside activities but came back young enough to make another impression, unfortunately he didn't make it.
You can gloss it up all you want but the facts stand out, Tyson never cemented his legacy against the the other top fighters of his era!

No argument, Smith ran and Tyson chased, whats your point?

Tyson had a poor night, you cannot argue that!

I dont need to re-watch the fight as I watched it live and recall the fallout at the time, do you remember?

Norton beat Ali. Ali got a SD win over him in another close fight. Ali never did beat a prime fraizer, just two shot fraizers. He's the lose his title to someone with 7 fights, 7! If Tyson had one more chance against douglas, he would have won.

Louis beat some of the worst fighters of all time.......in title fights! He never faced guys like Tucker,Holmes,Spinks,Bruno,Biggs. Louis won lot's od SD that should have maby been loses for him. Louis beat a washed up Max.

I like both of these fighters, Tyson is just as good as them. He's the greatest.

By having a plan B or even a plan C.

Tyson continued to chase Smith around the ring and Smith continued to run and hold when Tyson got within striking distance.
A true great would have quickly realised that this was not working and attempted to do something out of the box!

You name it, he could have tried double feints, switch of stance, worked off the back foot, fast arm type combo's etc etc etc.

The problem was he didn't, he looked lost and it became more like a wrestling/ballroom dancing exhibition!

Tyson was a great fighter and probably the most exciting fighter of modern times but he was limited in ability, granted his hand and foot speed and power was amazing but in the end that was just not enough!

This of course is only my opinion, I am also a huge Tyson fan but I am also a fan of the sport and in my opinion he was not good enough to be classed as a p4p great!
