Based on what Tyson did in his career as opposed to what he could have or maybe should have done he is not a top p4p fighter.

He dominated a poor division for a while but let outside influences affect his career, he is a top ten heavy of all time but no more in my opinion.

Ali has only himself to blame for his condition. He was the one who fought on when everyone close to him wanted him to quit.

There has been so many great fighters over the years.Tyson isn't even close to the top 20 IMO.Definetly top 100 though.

Also many people around Ali wanted him to continue. Without Ali fighting they were out of work - so they needed Ali to fight for the money.

Dempsey was 187 and knocked out men as big as Tyson's biggest oppents...so, by your logic, that would make Jack Dempsey the best pound-4-pound fighter EVER.

Yeah the people around him pressured him to go on. You can say they all share some of the burden. These so called friends of Ali's, the men in his entourage, could have done the right thing and tried to talk him out of it.

To blame the US government, though, is absurd.

Here is a better question. Why does Mike Tyson Jr loves being T-bagged so much?First of all i don't remmeber any 250 pound heayvweights Tyson knocked out.Second I don't even remember a 210 pound man he ever knocked out who was considered world class or still in their primes.3rd Foreman only weighed about 220 pounds for most of his prime so he wasn't much bigger than Tyson and yet he knocked out far bette opponents and Foreman isn't a pound for pound great. No heavyweight was or will ever be a pound for pound great.
