Wilder said he’d fight Whyte for 7 million as long as he had Joshua in the contract. Wilder in 2017 never said it would be 50/50 should he go to the UK. All Wilder wanted was a guarantee. There’s only several possibilities for this, Hearn was too stingy to share the revenue for what Wilder wanted which means Hearn is super cheap or his events don’t make up that much for what it claims. If you’re selling seats at bone pricing then it’s going to be hard to fulfill not Wilder’s guarantee, but the headlines for what AJ takes.

Fury is deluded if he thinks he can dictate the terms. Lineal or not, the reality is that he's got no recognized belts. None. And therefore he is a contender, not the champion no matter how much he wants to manipulate what the word "champion" means. Whoever has the belt has the leverage. The only exception in the sport is Canelo. But that's exception that confirms the rule.

Yeah, I don't see Wilder-Fury II happen any time soon. And all the while Fury will go back fighting bums and calling himself a "champion".

Remember how Arum always blames Al Haymon for not wanting to work with other promoters and not wanting to make fights?

“[The purse bid] doesn’t factor into it at all,” Arum told BoxingScene.com. “The WBC wants the fight to happen. Good luck to them. But we don’t need them to tell us how the purses should be. That’ll come with reasonable negotiations.”

Arum also emphasized that an immediate rematch of their dubious draw December 1 in Los Angeles doesn’t necessarily need to take place May 18. A deal nearly was finalized late last week for Fury (27-0-1, 19 KOs) and Wilder (40-0-1, 39 KOs) to fight again for Wilder’s WBC heavyweight championship May 18 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Well, there’s no magic in May 18th,” Arum said. “That’s just one day of the year. When it comes time to pick a date for the fight, as long as the fight happens, what difference does it make if it’s in June? Or where it is. I mean, obviously, Las Vegas would be a good place for it and there are other good places for it. But, I mean, that’s to be decided when the time comes.”

What I say Arum was going to make Fury pull out the purse bid. Not only did he all but confirm that will happen he is also doesn't care about the fight date and is now saying it shouldn't even happen in Brooklyn throwing out Las Vegas. Basically ripping up every point both sides had already agreed on. You don't sign with Arum and ESPN in the 11th hour of a deal that is almost done if you want to fight Wilder next. He signed with Arum because the money was too good to turn down knowing it killed the Wilder Rematch for now and maybe for good. As a fan this sucks hearing Arum p isss all over a fight fans were juiced up to see making it crystal clear that fight is DEAD.

I have been crap for predictions lately, so I will just simply say I lean to this rematch still happening. There is big money in this and only smaller cash for other options not named Joshua. If a couple more goalposts have been moved, it isn't far enough back to ruin the fight. The only way it does not happen is if one side or the other decides they like easy money in small doses over large, guaranteed cash in one shot.

Like I said, not predicting. I do not want to jinx things. Just leaning.

It’s not that cut and dry. Most thought Fury won the first fight, so Wilder needs the rematch more. Wilder is a belt holder, but Fury is Lineal. Like it or not Fury’s profile benefited more from the first fight. He can go fight bums if he wants, and Wilder can go back to doing the same also

Fûçking Bob Arum at it again, screwing up fights that the fans want!

Why don’t his @śś fûçking retire already? He’s got more than enough money to even outlive himself!

He can travel everyday anywhere for years! He can smoke the best weed in different countries!

He throws that all away to continue screwing up fights the fans want to see cuz he wants more money! Greedy old fart!

Fury did nothing wrong, he did what most would’ve done when offered life changing money!

Wilder is a warrior, he still wants to fight Fury wherever and whenever but this network and promoter crap almost always ruins the fights we all want to see!

                    Damn you Bob!

I'm Happy fury got his money but I'm not thrilled about Bob running the show. Arum could very well make the Wilder and Fury fight with no issues but he could also put the rematch off for a year or so smh
