You missed it, Wilder said he's network neutral & so are all of the PBC fighters. Al Haymon is an advisor, not a promoter, he can't force a fighter to a network.Comment

I give warren credit how he’s managed to prise 80mill out of arum
The only big picture I see is they have just delayed the much anticipated rematch which sucksComment

I read the below earlier. I doubt the fight happens in May. Maybe September. The September suggestion was from Arum. In short, they want to try and build Fury as a popular US fighter to make the fight bigger and, as many have guessed, the dollar amount of the deal is contingent on Fury fighting both Wilder and Joshua.Arum has got to some how make his 80million back in 5 fights
If he plays it to safe he's gonna have a hard time selling fights and if he risks it with Joshua / wilder to soon there's a good chance he gets knocked out early in his contract.
Hopefully the wilder fight still goes ahead . if we here of whyte brezeele getting pulled you know what's coming
DuBoef said Top Rank’s agreement with Fury discusses future fights with Wilder and three-belt heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, “but there’s a lot more to the Tyson Fury business than just those two fights. We see him as a gem in the rough, just barely been exposed yet in the U.S.”Comment

Wilder's myth has been severely damaged and now that Tyson has a deep pocket network behind him he can fight anyone he wants. Tyson will claim he beat Wilder and play that for all it's worth. Like Wilder, Tyson is also a great self promotes and it doesn't hurt that AJ is (cheap) a hard to negotiate with. With Tyson there's is no downside, even if you lose you'll still receive a good payday and the loss puts you in line with Wilder. It's a no lose proposition for any top 10 heavy weight without a network contract...or basically everyone except AJ..
I never liked Warren but that was a brilliant move.Comment

The problem with a purse bid is that the WBC has no leverage over Fury. So it's a risk for Wilder and a free-roll for Fury and his team.
Purse bid:
If Arum/Warren win, Wilder has to take the fight. If Wilder refuses the fight, the WBC can strip him.
If Haymon wins and Fury refuses to fight on Showtime PPV, what can the WBC do to him? Other than maybe refuse to rank him in the future?
The only leverage I can see on Fury is through fans/media. If it goes to purse bid and Fury refuses the fight and opts for a borefest UD vs Pulev, it looks bad for Fury.Comment

The big picture is that ESPN now has investments in everyone from Crawford to Tyson and they see mega fights in the future. In the short term, I doubt if they'll let anyone just pick off the menu if it's not in their long term interest.Comment

Worst case... Tyson fights the same exact opponents as Wilder and AJThe problem with a purse bid is that the WBC has no leverage over Fury. So it's a risk for Wilder and a free-roll for Fury and his team.

While technically true, how many PBC A-sides have fought on another promotion/platform since PBC was established?
Wilder, Spence, Thurman, Mikey Garcia, Danny Garcia, LSC, Hurd, Charlos, Gervonta, etc.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
See a pattern?Comment
