Why doesn't Arum just feed Lopez to Loma?

Lopez looks the goods. He is only 12 fights in though and hasn't fought anyone of note. I don't think he's ready to be in the ring with an elite, P4P guy.

Loma has similar record. Is this the time when the amateur record is allowed to be used? I guess it depends how the Loma fans feel.

There are good fights for loma at 130 as well...I don’t understand the rush for Lopez to face loma? Let the kid get a couple fights vs some rated opponents to see what’s what.

Lawrence Okolie has had 11 CW fights, only a few fights less than Usyk. Are their records similar would you say?

No they are not allowed to be mentioned, write off all those amateur fights. Forget they ever happened.
Those 400 wins, Olympic and World Championship Golds mean nothing and didn't shape Loma at all. The experience that came with them had no bearing on the fighter he is today. Clearly.

I also doubt loma move much higher than 135 if at all, outside maybe some type of unification near the end of his career. A showdown with tank in the next couple years is far more likely than Lopez.

As far as loma vs salido(I actually thought loma slightly edged it), there were a few factors that more pro experienced would have helped with. First, how to deal with guys who fight on the edge of the rules and more importantly, how to pace himself for a tough 12 round fight. Loma was not active enough early to mid fight. He fought as tho he wasn’t sure what he’d have going down the stretch and we all saw he had a lot left. He coulda stepped on it a couple rounds earlier and possibly stopped salido. That fight was good experience for him either way...with far more than fighting 10 set ups.

i hear what you are saying...but i have to believe that loma was preparing for 12 round fights...i dont believe he was preparing and training for 4-6 rounders and just jumped in there...he knew full well what he was getting into and knew full well who salido was.....some people act as if loma just kinda went pro blindly and without preparing for it...like he walked out of an amatuer tournament and fought a pro 12 rounder the next week.....he knew what he doing

Why would he throw Lopez to Loma? Lopez has had one test so far. He's nowhere near ready for that fight.

You do that fight now, and for the next 10 years you'll have idiots saying Loma only took the fight because Lopez was green and inexperienced. Loma can fight Comney, Garcia (hopefully) at 135 and he can still go down and defend at 130 against Berchelt (Id love that) Davis (doubtful, hed rather fight bantamweights) while Lopez matures.

you can train all you want for 12 rounders, but at the end of the day, training with a clock is a lot different than a real fight taking blows to the body. I remember them asking Mike Tyson after his first fight that went the distance, and he said he was worried during the fight because he had never gone a full 10 rounds, so he didnt want to be too aggressive.

Klitchko trained for 12 round fights his whole career, but got gassed and KO'd against both Brewster and Purity

What people who always bring the salido fight are forgetting is that Loma almost sparked Salido at the end of that fight when he realized he needed to do it.
It was his first fight and doubt that Lona would have lost if he had one or two fights prior to Salido's fight.

People just keep bringing that fluke up because they hate and there is nothing else they can use against Loma, who is P4P the best fighter in the world.
