I think Charlo is the best available opponent for GGG. And he already beat Jacobs (close fight) and Canelo at least once.

If he beats Charlo at 36/37 years old I don't think anyone could deny his ATG status anymore. Specially because Charlo will show after GGG retires that he is the best MW.

BJS could be another good opponent as well. He can come next, after Charlo.

Exactly this. Charlo might possibly stop Golovkin but I want to see the fight. Then Golovkin can fight another tough fight and retire.

I don't know if Charlo can stop GGG, but both of their styles mesh so well. Charlo will always struggle with a skilled southpaw. But against an orthodox fighter? Dude is hell for anyone. He's able to establish his jab better and is very calm under fire. Golovkin has a granite chin, great jab and doesn't like to take a back step even though he has good boxing skills.

No chance this fight happens if GGG has his eyes set on the Canelo trilogy though. I wonder who they are looking for next around end of April or early May time?

Charlo is crap against southpaws though. Billy Joe and Andrade will embarass him. He barely sc****d by Trout and Koborov, those guys are even slicker than those two and stronger too.

He will beat down and KO GGG and will give Canelo the worst beating he ever had, maybe even stop him. But put a southpaw in front of him and he looks lost AF.

A 28 year old GGG was fighting who? A 28 year old Canelo (Ring IQ) has a better chance than GGG at 28 fighting Monzon or Hagler. Don’t forget, Loma didn’t beat Salido, and therefore amateur grit is not the same when you face guys in the pros with mean intentions.

Hagler lost to Monroe at the same age Canelo fought Mayweather. Monzon never fought a counterpuncher like Canelo. Again, a 28 year old Canelo at 160 is not 2013.

I know Griffith and Benvenuti weren't prime but Canelo wouldn't beat (legitimately) the versions that Monzon faced and I think the same goes for the smaller Napoles. Let's not act like GGG is prime or great or that those fights were even fair decisions. Canelo being shorter, with average stamina and Monzon having a rock iron chin, great IQ, great stamina points to an easy night for Monzon.

Pretty much why there's 0 incentive for him to take this fight. Charlo's still an absolute unknown and had a tough fight against a late, inactive replacement.

It's pretty much a guaranteed that he'll look worse after this fight than he did going into it, unless he knocks out Jermall in a round or two.
