Real nice match up. I favor Kovalev but could see Smith pulling off a minor upset. He’s improved but his activity is non existent at this point. He just needs to fight period.

Kovalev jabs Smith to death from the outside. Smith losing his best weapon reverts to counter over the Krushers rht hand. The difference is that Kovalev is no Groves, he's bigger with heaver hands and he has already beaten better counter punchers than Smith.

A technical fight that ends in a 12 rd MD for Kovalev.

Thats what good about Kova - he never ducks anyone, he faces anyone without hesitation. Win or lose, that is what should professional boxers should do.

He still snaps peoples heads back and stuns them which is fun

I like this, I think Smith biting off more than he can chew here though

Smith will improve with the extra weight. He must be killing himself making 168.

Not sure if it will be enough though. 175 is a very good division.

                Facts Are Nice, I disagree.
Look at how their reaches measure up: Kovalev has a 72.5 inch reach, Smith is listed at 78 inches. Kovalev did have a longer reach than Ward, but he will not be able to fight Smith the same way.

I am not saying Smith beats Kovalev, as Kovalev seems to be the more skilled all-around fighter. But he will have to take Smith to the trenches. IMHO.

Yes, i don't see this as a walkover for kovalev. I was not particularly impressed with his performance against Alvarez. He looked very tired and a bit vulnerable after about round 7. Luckily for him, Alvarez was even worse on the night!

I don't like the reach advantage Smith has.. That could be troublesome for kovalev
