Mayweather fought all the best fighters at 130 and 135. Miguel Berchelt is currently number 1 so Davis needs to fight him if he truly wants to follow the Mayweather blueprint.

Berchelt vs Davis would be huge in terms of the best fighting the best. Even though it wouldn’t be for all the belts that fight would be for all the marbles at 130. Winner moves up to fight Lomachenko. But unfortunately it’s not happening.

Well Manny resume is very relevant to Floyd same era lots of common opponents from 130 on same weight classes , you cannot be negative on Floyds resume and be positive on Mannys.

If you dont want to pick Manny then who of this era can you compare Floyd resume to he trumps them all, and for every fighter and every single fight has if buts around them, simply because you can never make everybody happy at the same time.

Like I said if you want analyze Floyds resume it must referenced against somebody along the same time frame, you cannot turn a blind eye to A while criticizing B for doing the same thing.

I think you are lumping me in with other people who may criticize Floyd...I think he was a great boxer and as a promoter/manager, he was exceptional and TBE...I think he was probably the best boxer of the last 15 years, but as a boxer I also don't think he took real risks and challenges later in his career, he was more content to control everything and make lots of money. And who can be mad at him for that?

But when evaluating him as a boxer as TBE I can't put him, for example, in the same class as an Ali who fought Foreman in Zaire and against all odds knocked him out. Ali's career path destroyed his health and life so can't blame Floyd for the path he took. But I have to take into account Floyd's lack of real tests later in his career (weight, going on the road, opponents, etc) if we're talking about him as a true ATG in my book.

I loved his skills, especially at his lower weights, but to be TBE I would have wanted him to go to 160 and win the middleweight belts and outbox GGG when GGG was the boogeyman. That's what Leonard did. Or fight Pac 10 years ago in the Phillipines and KO him. Not easy stuff to do but we are talking about being TBE here, not just a great boxer. Skills-wise I think he is an ATG...but serious question for you - once he went to 140...can you name one great fighter in his prime, at his comfortable weight, that Floyd fought? I think a real ATG has to take real challenges and I just think Floyd played it safe and played the money route, and God bless him he did it wonderfully lol.

Manny's resume is impressive by itself in the fact that he started out as such a small guy and went up a lot in weight and had a lot of success. Similar to Floyd's career in that regard but Manny was very very small. As far as current guys, Loma is compiling an impressive resume right now but his last 2 fights to me show how tough it is for a guy usually to move up in weight, and is another reminder that what Floyd and Manny did was pretty exceptional.

They do have a lot of common opponents and you could argue either side for who has a more impressive win against a certain opponent. Manny having 7 losses and 3 KOs means I can't put his resume over Floyd's though. If Manny did better against Floyd in their fight I may make that argument but I thought that was a clear win for Floyd. Again I do think Floyd waited Manny out, for whatever reason, but when they fought it was a clear Floyd W.

Manny and Floyd do have a similar resume but when Manny had his chance against Floyd he lost 8-4...so he can't really claim to be better than Floyd. He can tell himself that he would have had Floyd a few years before but it doesn't matter...he had his chance and he lost fairly and that would always give Floyd the edge over him as far as resume goes.
