Ha I'm the only one I know that when I did smoke weed I'd never touch a bong, only joints, and I'd only have it straight. Dirt poor at the time too but I just couldn't make myself smoke tobacco, it's so unhealthy (tastes like chit too).

I have gone to dozens of fights by myself but only if they are within an hours drive from where I live. I lived in the LA California area so there were lots of fights I went to at the forum and the Olympic. Nobody ever stared at me thinking what a loser. Lots of others came by themselves as well and those that came with others were just there to enjoy the fights not judge anyone. There was never any waiting around unless you came before the prelim fights started. Sometimes on a lesser fights I could get a front row seat and there is just nothing else like that. You could almost feel the punches land.

Yeah, if I want to see anything above club level boxing I have to fly to another country. Most of my mates have kids and a mortgage and dont follow boxing. I always have fun. Boxing randos are always fun.

Went to Maskaev vs. Rahman II by myself, a couple friends flaked and my girl had to work. Ended up talking to the guy next to me who was a pretty hardcore fan, old school guy and he bet big on Maskaev so it made the fight more exciting.

              Had a good time.

I've noticed that there's a lot of older boxing fans who just take yearly trips to big fights like a vacation without kids/wife. Not really that uncommon for people to go to fight alone.

Have you ever been to a boxing match on your own? Is it a bit weird just sitting there on your own for 3-4 hours? Do people stare at you thinking what a loner?
I went to pacquiao vs broner by my self it was funny as soon as I sat down matter a fact before I sat down everybody in my row talking like we knew each other and we all came from different parts of the country.

And when I went to mayweather vs canelo it was not uncommon to see people by themselves at all just enjoying the fight. Plus people are just enjoying the atmosphere so nobody is going to care if your there by yourself but people will be more open to try to talk to you if you don’t mind but if not your not going to stick out at all.

I would rather go alone and make friends with other fight fan than take my wife. I learn the hard way years ago. Under NO circumstance should you take your spouse. Unless she is a more of a boxing fan than yourself.

With thousands of people around, I don't think anyone focuses on who is accompanying who. If they see you by yourself, they can probably think that whomever you're with went to the restroom or went to get snacks or something.
